With the addition to Buffy's hut almost done, Xander had elected for some free time while Buffy went off to train or patrol or whatever she had said she was going to do. Normally Xander would have tried to follow but today he was so tired, he just wanted to convince the bookshelf to give him some decent comics and curl up on the couch

"You look like a moron," he informed Xander over the music, although there was a smile on his face. It had been a quiet week and although he was tired, he didn't feel like he was going crazy anymore and it was hard to work up the energy to get pissed at anything. So mostly he just went with being amused.

The tension was obvious, but he ignored it. He would probably leave shortly anyway - he reckoned he was being something of a "buzzkill," as they said nowadays.
