House was in the rec room for some other purpose that he suddenly couldn't remember when he spotted a guitar case leaning against the side of the piano. He limped over, sat down, and picked it up. He realized full well that it probably belonged to someone and that he had no business touching it, but House had no business doing a lot of things.
He opened the case and pulled out the guitar, had the brief obligatory thought - I prefer mine - and then positioned it under one arm and strummed a chord. Nice. And nearly just right - he did draw the line at tuning another man's guitar.
He started to play the opening lick of "Over the Hills and Far Away." That song was one of the reasons why, as a teenager who already played piano, he picked up a guitar as well. That and Boston's "More than a Feeling." But no one was a bad ass as Jimmy fucking Paige. As long as you ignore that shameful Puff Daddy incident.
There were few incidents in House's life where he could be accused of impersonating a romantic. Maybe that imaginary trip to New York with Jack was one of them. Another... when he used to play "Over the Hills" for Stacy.
Hey lady, you've got the love I need, maybe more than enough, oh darlin', darlin', darlin', walk a while with me...
[OOC: No, I do not know whose guitar this is. If your pup owns a guitar, feel free for it to be theirs. :-D ]
