The commemoration of birthdays was always a very welcome event and did serve to remind Jane of the sanctity of life and how each person's was quite precious. With that in mind, she baked and cooked this morning with a slight different purpose, creating muffins with a lemon glaze akin to sugaring on top, intended for all the people who normally attended her breakfast, naming them with a single letter made of berries.
She also made thin slices of boar meat and set it to fry with the sprinkling of pepper atop, also turning to a loaf of bread made as she sliced with trembling, almost aching fingers (for the humidity did swell them and make her ring hurt). These things were placed upon a plate while Jane made several fruit salads in large bowls.
The coffee, the tea, scores of juice were made, and she was aware of the effort being more concerted than usual, but she also knew that she would only be able to stay upon her feet and cook as such for a limited span of time and it was expiring. Soon, she would need Stuart and her Mama and perhaps Lizzy to aid her while she rested off her feet for the duration of her pregnancy until confinement.
But for the moment, she was able, so she would work.
[Mmmonday. Jane has cupcakes with your initial on them.]
