After a day of being male, Abby was fully used to it again, especially the convenience of just finding a tree when he had to go.  He'd spent the morning with Nick, pranking the oddly absent Greg, and was feeling very mischievous and proud of himself.

It was a gorgeous day, despite the occasional screams.  Sunny but not too sunny, warm, a little ( Read more... )

Anita had not really been herself since reading the book that she had gotten from...well she hadn't gotten his name but whoever he was. She had tried to look at things logically, after all maybe the Island could make books about your life that oh by the way had to do with a future you knew nothing about. If they could change age and gender it was certainly possible, but she had the sneaking suspicion that wasn't the case.

She headed down to the beach intent on trying to forget what she had read when she noticed a man..who was making sandcastles. There was something oddly familiar about him too. "Hello there, didn't mean to interrupt." Only one way to find out she supposed.

Abby looked up from the moat to see Anita, who had apparently avoided the switching.

"Oh, hi Anita, you're not interrupting," he said cheerfully.

Now Anita might have way too much on her mind but it was hard for a few facts to escape her notice...1)This person knew her, 2)There were sandcastles involved and 3)There was cheerfulness involved. Now these three things added up to an almost inescapable conclusion. "Abby?" The Island had struck again.

"Wow, that was fast, what gave it away?" he asked, putting the beaker down and concentrating on Anita.

"If I get down there to sit with you, I'm never going to get back up," ssaid Eostre, standing looking down at Abby with both hands on her bump. "It's never ever going to happen for me."

She grinned.

"Nice castle. I lived in one like that once, for a bit."

"Well, then, I'll get up," he offered, and did, brushing himself off. He hadn't gained or lost any height, thankfully, just a rack.

And then, because he couldn't resist, no matter what they'd just done last night, he leaned down and kissed Eostre.

Eostre pressed up into the kiss on her tiptoes, fingers fisting in the fabric of Abby's swimshorts.

"I am feeling very spoilt this weekend. I got Mike in a corset last night too."

"Now that would be an interesting sight," he chuckled, pulling back from the kiss and slinging an arm around Eostre's shoulders.

The box had not been helpful in the swimwear department. It kept giving her trunks and board shorts. Finally, there was an absolutely hideous bikini top that looked like 1974 barfed on it, but Greg took it anyhow and had the Ramones shirt over it as she made her way to the beach.

She almost tripped over the sandcastle, but stepped to the side at the last moment. "Whoa, sorry man," she said, smiling down at the goth kid.

Abby looked up to see an unfamiliar blonde kinda punky lookin woman and smiled. "Don't worry about it. It's just a sandcastle, they're pretty easy to rebuild."

Greg stripped off her shirt, revealing the string and triangle blasphemy. "I'm Greg Sanders," she said, tossing the shirt away.

"It's nice to meet you, Greg Sanders," he replied, struggling to keep a straight face while checking out Greg as a girl. Well, this explained where he'd been all weekend...hiding.

"Did you make the clothesbox mad?"

Tosh walked up to the sandcastle, looking at it admiringly. It was rather good. Very good in fact, not that tosh had much experience with building castles herself. "It looks like you've done this before."

Abby looked up at Tosh and grinned. "Several times. What good is a tropical island with beaches like this if you don't make sand castles?"

"I've not actually tried. But you're right, it does seem a shame to not." Smiling, she walked around the castle, admiring it. "I'm Tosh by the way. Have we met?" It was so hard to know this weekend.

"We have met, but I'm not gonna tell you who I am. I'm gonna let you figure it out," he explained impishly.

Bran knows it's Abby. He absolutely remembers what Abby looks like as a boy. He peers down at her over the top of his sunglasses, his hat shading his face from the sun.

"Definitely needs a deeper moat. And a drawbridge."

abbysciuto April 2 2007, 03:30:38 UTC
"Yeah, but a drawbridge would be so hard to construct, or at least a working drawbridge would. You'd need pulleys and ropes and counterweights," she points out.

"You're picky," Bran says dryly, dropping to his knees near the castle. "Most of us can be satisfied with a bit of driftwood we can move up and down. So is it less surprising the second time?"

"Of course I'm picky. I'm a scientist," he sighs. "And yes, it is very much less surprising. It even happened about the same time. So hey, maybe I'll put it on my calendar."
