Anya had woken up bright and early, ready to prepare the day's meal. She had found ideas the night before in yet another cookbook the bookshelf had given her, and she was looking forward to making it.
It was simple, sure, but the meal she was going to put together was pancakes and bacon. She made quite a few batches, each time only making enough batter for one batch - so she could mix different fruit into each one. By the time she was done, she had made a good amount of banana, blueberry, strawberry, and yes, even mango pancakes, and they were laid out neatly on plates and served still steaming. Some of the pancakes were a bit strangely shaped, but that was only because Anya was getting used to using the spatula to turn the stuff. The bacon was made just after that, and she cooked up a good amount of slices and would cook more when she saw the need for it. With the addition of her usual fruit salad, coffee, tea, and juice, Anya was fairly satisfied she had made a good meal, and that she was getting better at cooking.
She wouldn't give up - too stubborn to give up - until she was great at it.
"I guess you can have a piece," she told Pooka, who was sitting at her feet as she finished putting out the bacon. She took a small one and bended down to give the door it, who immediately began to eat it up.
