At this point, Remus isn't all that surprised to find that Sirius has run off to do something reckless without ascertaining if it was even necessary. That kind of foresight and ability to plot a course of action is what generally stops people from running off into a storm at all, much less after the bloody volunteers trained to do it have come in out of the rain.
Remus had already spent an hour chewing the inside of his cheek and watching the doors when Cassie wandered upstairs, gone through stages of worry, annoyance, and a resigned sort of relief that at least she wasn't out there. Half an hour later, he's pacing the width of the hall, hardly behavior fitting of someone resigned to the fact that Sirius is a fucking idiot. A fucking idiot who doesn't know there's no one out there to find.
Stopping abruptly, Remus starts down the hall to the rec room, looking for, if not help, then at least commiseration. He's spent enough of the day here that he saw Neil coming in, and he doubts he's gone and run off into the wilderness in the interim. "Neil," he calls on his way over, though he thinks better of launching into the problem when he sees the girls nearby. Drawing himself up primly as he stops next to them, he tries to appear unruffled when he says, "I need to speak with you for a moment."
