Got to play 5 games that my friend got with his Wii.
The Wiimote's response generally corresponded with the specific game. In the case of Wii Sports, I was good with batting (in baseball, for you sports noobs), bowling (I played only one game, in which I bowled a 146), and to a lesser extent golf. I sucked at boxing. Couldn't get the controls to work, but my friend owned some shit up in boxing. I did not get a chance to play tennis, but the people who were supposed to show up for our party did not come anyway, so tennis would've been a bust.
Twilight Princess...oh my god, my friend spent an hour trying to catch fish WITH A HAWK. When he finally got the fishing pole...he showed us that he'd never actually been fishing before and thus did not know how to cast the line. He gave up pretty fast on that one. But what I saw of it, it's going to be fucking sweet.
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2. Okay, shut up, I actually like these games. The controls are a bit tough to get the hang of, but it's surprisingly intuitive once you learn what the hell you're doing. The controls for "super moves" mimic the hand motions used in the anime fairly well (Kamehameha, nunchuk forward, wiimote back then forward; Burning Attack, criss-cross the nunchuk and wiimote rapidly several times). Of course, there's always the usual problem where the characters who appeared later in the series are much more powerful than the earlier ones, meaning you can't exactly have fair fights with just anybody...but at least this game admits it. I'M TALKING TO YOU, STREET FIGHTER
Call of Duty 3. VERY difficult to control this game. Move either the 'mote or the 'chuk slightly and you start spinning around randomly looking straight up. They cut you some slack by making it so you have to sustain a certain amount of damage in so long (you heal fairly quickly after taking no damage), though that may just be a Call of Duty thing. The game is HARD. Couldn't stand to play it for more than 10 minutes, but I'm no FPS lover by any stretch.
Red Steel. Now THIS is a Wii game through and through. Like Flesh said, the sword parts are mostly limited to random guys you meet, almost like minibosses of sorts. Otherwise, you can also run up and poke people with the sword in "gun mode", but it's highly impractical since ammo is EVERYWHERE. But the sword parts are freaking cool. At the beginning of the second level there's this fat black guy in a hoodie who tries to beat you down with a baseball bat...he's so drunk he can't even swing straight. Good times.
I was not able to test multiplayer, since we only had one Wiimote on hand at the time.
P.S. The Wii comes with a 512 meg hard drive. You do not need to get a memory card. Also, there's four Gamecube controller ports built-in to the side of the console.
