What. I just had a mini-breakdown at rehearsal. I think it was a combination of being extra tired from jet lag, being overwhelmed by the mountains of stuff I have to do, and being frustrated that I was having problems remembering lines, etc. This week is going to be a tough one - not a lot of down time - but things should get better after that.

More importantly, one of my favorite internet comments [from http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2010/01/the_devil_writes_pat_robertson.html, which is awesome anyway]:

"Let him and his elk EARN his money, the old fashioned way, not through scamming Christianity."

Damn right! If there's one thing I hate more than Rush Limbaugh's water buffalo, it's Pat Robertson's elk!

I've had my current bike for about a year and a half now. I've always had problems with changing gears - it would always take a while...the gear change usually wouldn't take before I had to actually go up a hill. I finally went to a bike shop today to get it fixed, and the guy didn't even bother checking the bike to make sure there was nothing wrong. He just told me that with that kind of gear thing, you have to stop pedaling while you shift - for all the other bikes I've had, you're really supposed to continue pedaling while you shift.

So after owning this bike for at least a year and a half, I finally know how to change gears, thanks to a guy who barely glanced at it.

This is almost as sad as when I found out, after a year of living in this apartment, that I'm a thirty-second walk from a Döner place, a bakery, and a café.

People sometimes don't believe me when I tell them how completely not observant I can be...but it's true.
