Okay, so I don't know much about Protestant religions but I'm going to have a stab at it since my family is super Catholic to the max. From my understanding, a basic principle in Protestant denominations of Christianity is the ability for the individual to evaluate and interpret the Bible and other Christian texts. So basically, I think that in the Anglican Church and the Church of England, that there are two basic denominations-- those that stay true to the canon of the Catholic church and those that interpret it and emphasize the Protestant nature of it. Therefore, Anglicans probably give weight to the rosary, the sacraments, and the saints, but the Protestant factor is that they can interpret it as they see fit.

I donno. I'm a pretty bad Catholic myself. And I don't know any Anglicans. So don't pay any attention to me.

Also, I agree with whomever that person is above me. ^ It's senior year, take a couple of risks and go crazy (but not that much) because you'll either get something good out of it or you'll never have to see this person again in a couple of months. Additionally, if you are truthful and be yourself when confessing your likingness or whatever, there's a mighty good chance that you'll stay friends even if he doesn't like you back.

lol you win for analyzing the anglican church. Some of the stuff you said though isn't too true. Anglicans are Protestants. We don't associate ourselves with ANYTHING concerning the Catholic church... we don't do hail marys or worship the pope. but yey for Catholics.

ehhh i'm not sure about the staying friends bit... i can just see him being awkward about it. plus its one of those things that will inevitably get around no matter what, just because its me and just because it's this person. SO a whole revolution will arrise and my life will be a train wreck

Well obviously not the hail marys and worshipping the pope. But didn't those crazy Pilgrims want out of the Church of England because it was too similar to Catholicism? So if the basic philosophy is similar to Catholicism, but there's room for interpretation, doesn't that mean that there's a crazy difference?
