12 days till I get back to my Stonehill lovers and friends!! WOOO! You all may be enjoying your break and are not ready to get back, but I am SO excited. Break is great, yada yada, I love my fam and friends here and all that, but I NEEED some Stonehill in my life. You all better be back on Sunday the 14th. I won't request a party, a la Aaron, because of the short notice, but you'd best all be there. And maybe Kendra will have baked goods? No pressure, Kendra, but I would like cup cakes with buttercream frosting. And if you could get a pony and some decorations? JK, JK!!! I'll bring the pony.
Sooo... 14 days till all those good feelings end and student teaching begins! No, no, jk again, I'm kind of excited. At least I'll finally be able to tell if teaching is something I want to do with my life. And believe it or not, I like a challenge. I actually need a challenge after the pointless, yet delicious, idleness of a semester abroad. I have two concerns, however:
1. I don't really know how to plan lessons, day after day. This, to me, seems like a large concern, but I'm trying not to let it get me down.
2. On a slightly less major pedagogical note, I am a little concerned about my look. I have recently been carded by grocers in Ireland while buying expensive champagne, which implies that I look like a 17 year old with surprisingly good taste -- a rare spectacle. Also, just yesterday my 30-something cousin almost fainted when I said I was 21, and I was almost carded getting egg nog at a family Christmas party. Basically, I need to get a look that says "authority, age, maturity" -- or at least "can see R-rated films." I think I'm going to have to do some shopping. I'm seeing cute tweed skirts, classy black boots, and umm...make-up? Could be fun.
Anyway, those are my main concerns. Oh! I remember one more -- I don't have a car to get to East Bridgewater. Hopefully someone else was assigned there. That could be problematic.
Alright, well, miss you all, and Happy New Year!!
