Love the Ephram POV ... I'm hearing echoes of the "Tragic Flaw" essay.

And conflicted Bright:
In a single moment, I lost Colin - and I lost myself.
AU, sure, but so in character.

And the naps together? Soooo true. Not only can I see Bright feeling that way, but ... yeah, it is like that. When you really feel that strongly for someone, it's not just about the sex, no matter how horny you are. It's about getting close and seeing the side of each other that no one else sees ... and just being there. And yes, guys can feel that. And do. [*pause*Shutup.*pause*]

This is my town and that's my Bright.
Ow! And ... ewww. But that's Colin in this universe ... and I can't help wondering how much of this was in Colin on the show. It's so much like Amy's scheming to get Colin back ... except that she was also trying to revive the quasi-dead, and this Colin has no such excuse.

He couldn't deny that he still loved Colin.
You've really portrayed the deceit well here: the illusion of Colin vs. the reality. Amy loved who she thought Colin was (or who she wanted him to be), and Bright loves who he thinks Colin is. And you're building the it-can't-last tension really well here.

“Please don't say that. You can't say that and then pick him.”
Best line in this chapter ... and totally Ephram *snif*

Excellent!

Thanks for this.

I didn't really know how to go about the big reveal. No matter what I did, it seemed a little abrupt. I'm glad it reads well.

I've also been worrying that the final Ephram/Bright scene might be a little schlocky. You never know if the dialog in your head works on paper when others read it without the benefit of your inflection.

Glad it works.

Second Part is being worked as we cyber-speak.

:)
