Because all I needed was a page break.

It looks all I needed was a page break so all my ideas don't get jumbled up. Who knew. Anyways, here is the Beilschmidt Family.

Beilschmidt die Familie

Gerfried Beilschmidt was born in 1910. He met and married Monika Kaiser in 1927. His family was very poor and at first supported Hitler's regime. However, he was no fool and soon understood what was happening. He had three children with Monika: Fredrich (1928), Josephine (1929), and Armin (1930). Eventually, he became an Allied spy. He had to flee Germany in 1932 after he was caught by his superior officer. He made it as far Italy, where he was allowed to hide in the Vargas household. He stayed there until the end of the end of the war. He missed much of his children's life, and he wishes he could have brought his family with him. He enchanted his children (and grandchildren) with stories of Italy and of his Italian friend, who also lost his wife to the war. His children never resented him and in fact were very proud to him their father. Because of his absence, he doted on his grandchildren.

Fredrich Beilschmidt was born in 1928. He is the eldest child. Always very witty and smart. He took over as the family patriarch as soon as he was able to work. He never resented his father, though he did miss him severely. After his father's return, he was enchanted by his tales of his stay in Italy and left to travel for a while. He is well cultured and educated. He knows several languages and how to play different instrument (particularly the flute). He married a Swiss woman named Christel Zwingili (1953). They had three children: Louise (1955), Vash (1961), and Elise (1967). He too enchants his children with tales of foreign lands like his father. Louise decided to join the covenant and become a nun. Vash wishes to be a banker. Elise is still looking for her calling in life. She inherited her aunt's sophisticated demeanor. Unfortunately, all of his children were born as serious as his mother. He spends a lot of time with his nephew Gilbert who has a good sense of adventure.

Josephine Beilschmidt was born in 1929. She is the middle child and only daughter. She married Erich Edelstein (1950). They only had one child, Roderich (1953). Soon after, Erich had and accident causing him to unable to foster any more children. Erich became distant and left most of his son's education to Josephine. Josephine has quiet and elegant personality.

Roderich Edelstein was born in 1953. He is an only child. Because he was brought up almost solely by his mother, he is a lot more feminine than most men. He learned the piano from his mother. He also learned class and etiquette. When he was growing up he was close to his cousins Gilbert. He was also quite fond of his cousin Vash. He was often teased as a child for his feminine disposition. There was a time he was trying out masculine activities, but found they didn't suite him. In 1969, Gilbert introduced him to his close friend Eli. He had been anxious to meet Gilbert friend as he often described Eli as the manliest person in the world. He was surprised to find Eli (short for Elisabeta) was in fact a woman. At first he was appalled by her unruly behavior, but soon had come to love her. On Eli's 17th birthday, he proposed. She accepted. Upon asking her father for her hand in marriage, he refused. His parents also disapproved. When he learned his grandfather's old friend was coming to his grandfather's funeral, he planned to elope. He spoke it over to Gilbert, who encouraged him to the point of deciding to go with him. He proposed the plan to Elisabeta, who was skeptical, but agreed after she got her brothers' blessings. He later spoke to Romulus who agreed to help them. On their departure day, he left a letter to his and Elizabeta's parents explaining their decision. He has had a strained relationship with his parents since, but his father-in-law and other relatives applauded his resolve. In Italy, he was close to the younger Vargas boys and played for them on the piano. He was the one who got Feliciano interested in the visual arts. He still truly loves Elisabeta and never regretted his decision. He and Eli have a daughter, Chiara (1973).

Armin was born in 1930. He is the youngest and most serious of his siblings. Ironically, his wife Dagmar Jaeger, whom he married in 1951, is the most lively and fun-loving person. They were childhood friends and later became sweethearts. He was constantly teased for having the worst proposal ever. Fritz in particular likes recalling this event to Gilbert and Ludwig, to his dismay. He had two children with Dagmar: Gilbert (1953) and Ludwig (1962). He was dedicated family man and loved his two children very much. He died with his wife and father in a car accident, where the other driver was drunk (1971).

Gilbert Beilschmidt born in 1953. He is a proud and egoistical man. His mother fueled his ego thinking it to be adorable at a young age, and then saying it was good to be so confident when he was older. He was very happy and proud when he found out he was going to be an older brother and boasted it to everyone. It was during this time he met Elisabeta. At the time both he and Elisabeta thought she was a boy as her parents constantly referred to her as a male. They soon became friends and rivals. After Ludwig's birth (1962), they spent a little less time together. In 1964, Gilbert accidentally found out Eli was a girl and told her so. Gilbert eventually developed a crush on her, but knew the feeling wasn't reciprocated. He helped Roderich woo Elisabeta. Once Ludwig was old enough, he did a lot of activities with him. Though he wasn't perfect, he really liked spending time with Ludwig. He was studying to become an engineer before his parents death. He planned and joined Roderich in leaving Germany to Italy. After his parents death, he knew he couldn't fool around anymore and had to take a steady job to support his younger brother. In a final moment of selfishness, he decided to follow Rod and Eli to Italy and take a job there with Romulus. In his letter to their uncle Fritz he said "It sounded like fun, so I joined them," then proceeded to explain seriously his reasons for leaving. He's glad he decided on it, since Ludwig found a friend in Feliciano. He himself kept his best friends and even became close with Francis. He strangely bonded better with Lovino. He gives him helpful big brotherly advice when Lars is away. Although Lovino dislikes him, he does trust him and values his opinion. He has been told by Lovino that he is a good farmer as he cherishes the grapes. Gilbert replied saying "it's like taking care Luddy; they are so well-behaved... there's no way I can hate it."

Ludwig was born in 1962. He is Gilbert's younger brother. He doesn't remember much of his parents. He does remember that Gilbert takes after their mother and he is more like their father. Because of Gilbert's crazy demeanor, he feels as if he has to be the responsible one. The feeling increases after he meets Feliciano. His mature attitude & strong physique makes him easier to talk to. It's also easy to forget his real age. Lovino is constantly upset at, not him, but at others for forgetting he's younger than even Feliciano. Lovino can sometimes employ harsh methods to remind him and others of his capabilities. He can even be rude when praising Ludwig. Ludwig did not understand why they left for Italy at first, but learned as he grew up. He likes Italy and the Italian culture. He can speak Italian fluently, with only a small trace of accent compare to his brother's heavy one. He really admires Feliciano, though he's usually helping him out of trouble. He grows a crush for him, though he won't realize it without prompting. He is currently studying to be an agricultural engineer. He genuinely loves the vineyards and wishes to repay Romulus the favor.

....
Okay, I think I got most it. My muse decided that it's tired now and wants to take nap. On my part, I may or may not add to the Beilschmidt Family profile later on. I really like this exercise. I like knowing my characters. I especially like there isn't anything too angsty. Elisabeta didn't like Gilbert - that's okay he's a cool guy and only wants her to be happy. His parents died, though that's sad, he has his brother to think about and can't stay stuck in grief forever. In turn, I think his experience made him a better man. It also gave him the necessary tools to help Lovino when he need the help the most. I don't see them as a couple, but rather an unspoken trust. Lovino could threaten to kill Gilbert and he'll dismiss it with a shaking head thinking 'children.' I don't know something like that. Besides, I ship PruCan and in my mind, years after the story, he does get his happy ending.

Well, I'm tired now.
