In the rec room today, there's a girl who has seemingly settled in for the long haul. Her shoes, dainty ballet flats, are neatly beside each other on the floor near the sofa, and she's folded her legs underneath her, hidden under her skirt. She's got several bowls of fruit next to her, a few sandwiches she's grabbed from the kitchen, and she's intent on not moving for many, many hours.
That morning, Grace had gone to the rec room, hoping to find something to read on the bookshelf, and instead, had found several reels of footage. Reels dated to April 29, 2011, which is quite a while after she'd arrived on the island. She's always been a bit wary of these sorts of things, of films and books from her supposed future, but this one is something she absolutely can't pass up.
Grace had been looking forward to Prince William and Kate's wedding ever since she'd found out the two of them were to be married, and she had actually been a bit disappointed that she'd been swept away to the island before it had happened, and had been convinced she'd missed it. But now the bookshelf has seen to it that she won't miss out at all, and she's been there all morning, watching reels of people arriving at the church and of everyone and their lovely hats. Though... Princess Beatrice could do with rethinking hers, perhaps.
Still, it's all amazing and romantic, even before the wedding's even properly started. In fact, Grace is so caught up in the excitement of it all, that she barely notices someone else has stopped to watch until they're terribly close to the sofa. She looks up at them with a smile.
"It's lovely, isn't it?" she says, "Kate's supposed to leave for Westminster Abbey soon, if you wanted to watch as well."
