Balance

More alert than I was expecting, but still pretty tired. Had to push to stay on track with work, but made it to five. It's possible that hooping made enough of a difference for me to hold it together. I now have three days of hooping in a row. It wasn't a delight, but it wasn't too much of a chore. I use Spotify with a Bluetooth headset to minimize the domestic impact, and watch visually interesting movies with the sound off to help the time pass. Baby steps.

Everyone was busy today at work, so no one up in my grill at the moment, but it won't last. I need two asskicking days. That requires some real sleep. Hooping, good eating and sleeping habits. Balance. Today I avoided simple carbs, had reasonable amounts of a good variety of food.

No Facebook apart from Facetimes with Jamey, who needed to vent about work, and Gary, who needed to vent about setting up his Roku and his house falling apart. The mobile signal dropped several times, so I got him to try Facetime. Success. Happily the town is widening the road, so he should be able to sell it and find a better spot.

Michael's uptairs blasting the TV as usual. If only there was a door in the stairwell, which acts as an amplifier. The current binge cycle "Aquarius," a very well done cop series set in the 70's starring David Duchovny and touching on historic events. I watched about 20 minutes then back downstairs to get my evening started. He'd taken today off that he could ill afford to receive delivery of his "new" used car from Virginia. Unfortunately they knocked delivery over to tomorrow, so he gets to do it again.  :-/

Wasn't feeling good enough to do anything complicated after work and not relaxed enough to sleep, so I got this week's Food Lion run out of the way. I have Friday off for the holiday. I don't want to waste it this time. Being more vigilant about how I'm using my time.

Was hoping to get to bed sooner, but I wouldn't have been able to sleep anyway. Going to mix up some dried fruit and nuts in case I get peckish in the middle of the night. A small handful or less to take the edge off if I get hungry enough for it to keep me awake. My sleep plan is to keep my temperature down, use some David Sedaris recordings to wind my brain down and run tomorrow's do do list through my head until I drop off. These days, four solid hours of sleep would be amazing. Here we go.
