Leveling up

Jul 04, 2016 02:17

I finally got back to working new tricks on a reasonably regular basis. In the last few weeks I cleaned up my barrel roll and tube so that they've become strong features. Worked out the linear isolation and the tracing linear isolation, which looks pretty badass. I'm nailing the one-handed palm spin on the first try about 90% of the time and I'm getting the hang of the overhead flick spin. My shoulder toss and breaks are starting to look intentional, though I see bruises in my future until I develop my touch on the breaks. I've also added a backdoor hinge to barrel roll combo that works well and a walk-the-dog to elbow spin to rocket toss that needs a bit of work. So multiple irons in the fire.

Next step is more work on the shoulder tosses and breaks, and adding off hand work the escalator to my bag of (now over 50) tricks. More importantly, I want to work on some group choreography, costuming, lighting and backdrops to have some Halloween theme pieces ready. In less than two months the Most Perfect of Months will be upon us!
