when people say that if you grew up in the state of new york, but not new york city then you are NOT allowed to call yourself a new yorker. I think if you say new yorker, nyc is implied, but really...come on now, i love it too but NYC is such a small fraction of the state of ny. Like, wtf. What am i supposed to say "i'm a new yorker now, but i was raised a new york state resident"
