Holla from Georgia

Go figure, everytime I try to access my LJ account the internet cafe blocks it...until today! Georgia...interesting place. Full of superstitions, crazy gender rules and relations and a language that could double as an alien alphabet. Happy to say that due to the most intensive language prgm known to man I can read that and speak it. I didn't think it was humanly possible to learn the 1st few weeks here. On Friday I swear-n as an official PC volunteer. 9 weeks of pre-service training has us all a little on edge and I can't wait for it to be over. I will move to my permanent site- a town called Gori. My new home is 2 blocks away from Stalin's childhood home which is perfectly preserved and in front of his musuem. I checked it out yesterday- very creepy. And I met a hardcore Stalinist...interesting experience.

Here's to blistering heat, no air conditioning and being in the best shape of my life because I have to walk everywhere in this country.

Peace!
