Honeymoon Day 1 and 2 continued...
Once we arrived in Montego Bay airport, we had to clear customs and get a ride to our resort Sandals in Ocho Rios. That was a 115 minute drive from the airport. Fortunately we got some great service from the airport as part of our suite package and got to ride in a nice commuter van instead of a tourist bus to the resort.
We were earlier than expected so our room wasn't ready for a few hours. We discovered how hot was it at our resort! I won't type that sentence enough in this entry. We toured the pool area in our part of the resort. We also were trying hard not to fall asleep because of when our day started. I was feeling the heat so I was in the "butler room" soaking up the AC and having a beverage. We opted for this butler package to see what kind of special treatment would be received and in the long run, we were both glad to have it. We won't be going for a butler package again though since we know what to do in this resort for next time. :)
Our butlers were Jermaine and Scott, two great guys! After a much-needed lunch in the buffet-style restaurant and once we got into our room, we crashed for naps. After the much needed naps, we were escorted to Manor House Restaurant for our first dinner and the scenery was beautiful! We spent a very rewarding, relaxing evening together by our own pool! Each butler suite came with a private pool area shared by three other couples. Kayla and I got to swim and enjoy the pool together on our own.
Day 2.....Beach Party Day!
We decided to have breakfast on our patio overlooking the private pool. Excellent so far! We probably ordered more than we should have it but everything was great. Especially the fruit punch bottles they left in our mini-fridge.
We then headed to the Beach! We took a "hop" bus to the beach from our part of the resort and had a wonderful time lounging and relaxing in a "floatie". There were 5 floaties in the beach you could jump into and lounge in. Each floatie had two cup holders so you could order a drink and then swim out to the floatie and enjoy it. After beach time, we headed back to the butler room and did some shopping for tourist gifts afterward. We then got ready for the Beach Party. I wasn't feeling all the seafood they were serving but luckily we found food in a different spot and it was much better! We enjoyed drinks along with some great entertainment filled with juggling, firebreathing and dancing. I think we were feeling the power of the beverages so we called it a night with the beach party.
