We're married!

Kayla and I got married on Saturday, July 1st in front of all our friends and family. It was a beautiful ceremony led by my nephew TIm and we boarded a party trolley for around downtown Fort Wayne filled with drinks, laughs and lots of pictures with our photographer Kris. We had a wonderful reception filled with lots of tears, laughs, drinking, kissing and most of all---dancing! It was wonderful to see everyone wishing us well. The best man and maid of honor speeches were wonderful! My brother is quite the speaker in front of everyone. Danielle spoke well of my wife too. Best part was seeing my wife walk down the aisle for the first time in her dress. I guess my reaction caused a lot of people to shed a few tears in the moment. She looked...looks so beautiful! I know my left leg was shaking like it usually does in a nervous moment like this but we all got through it and had a wonderful time.

Before we left for Jamaica, we had a great hotel stay in downtown Fort Wayne and then made our way home with a lot of gifts, cards and memories. The guys thought it would be great to decorate the Equinox with a few things. :-) Since we were leaving for Jamaica by driving down to Indy, I thought it best to gas up the car and give it a good wash. The people at Mike's winked at me and said "we'll get this cleaned up for you". It was wonderful to open so many cards and gifts from our friends and family. We even received the infamous KitchenAid mixer and of course it is purple.

We finally left Fort Wayne around 6 pm and drove down to Indy to stay at our future sister-in-law's apartment. But we couldn't get there yet without a stop to Ivanhoe's for dinner and ice cream. It was packed! Fortunately, we got our food and left. We definitely should have left sooner but I wasn't packed and ready like my wife was. Go figure. I think we finally hit the pillow around 10 pm in order to get up around 3:30 am to catch our first flight out of Indy.

The Uber driver picked us up and we missed our exit. Luckily, we caught up with our gate. Nothing we can do about air travel other than to show up in time. We were really close to missing our connecting flight to Jamaica due to flight crew issues of our first flight.

I'll pause here and leave with we did make it to Jamaica unscathed and more memories to share...
