Thanksgiving has come and gone, and it was lovely.

I'm so thankful to be part of so many wonderful families. D's family drives me crazy sometimes, in just the way that families do, but I always feel welcome and included and loved, and just generally like my life is enriched for being a part of theirs. We (Darius, Autumn, Cyrena, Adam, and I) spent all day yesterday opening presents.  In fairness we didn't get started until the early afternoon, but still....ALL DAY!  It's like a childhood dream come true!  We also ate a HUGE amount of great food, and enjoyed a huge amount of fabulous company ( Read more... )

Why is it that I only remember that I'm not complete untalented in every conceivable way when it is too late for me to demonstrate this?
( this actually isn't really depressing, or even particularly sad, though I realize that both the title, and the first sentence do tend to indicate that it might be )

With the exception of last night's surreal turn of events, I had a truly fabulous weekend.

Friday night D and I went out to "The Vintage" and enjoyed a fabulous meal, and the equally fabulous company of enchantingamber and emotionaldyke. I had a truly wonderful Valentine's Day, and hope you did as well. Being in love, and surprises, and scenic drives, and kissing in the snow, and delicious food, and fabulous wine make for a very happy girly.

It just occured to me that my boyfriend is going to me working on Valentine's Day. It totally figures that I'll spend the very first Valentine's day of my life when I'm happily in love heating up a frozen entree, and watching TV/putzing around on the internet, or hanging out with some of my single friends.

I had a really great Christmas. Really, really great. It may have been my best Christmas ever, certainly the best in recent memory. Cyrena did Christmas at her house, and I spent the day with her, Darius, their Mom, and Atom. We're in the midst of cubicle decoration at work, which I'm participating in, for the first time ever. My "team" has chosen to have Christmas carols as our theme, and each individual cube has its own carol, the one that I share with 3 other people is "Silver Bells."
