so, my mother tells me it's time to post again. it has  been a while...  i forgot about "rich text mode."  nice...

hmm... well, i work at cracker barrel in owensboro as a server.  i'm in that, "oh my goodness, how am i ever going to do this impossible job?" stage, pastor mike puts it.  basically, i feel i wasn't created for extensive manual labor.  i come home exhausted,  and lucky to make forty or fifty bucks.  after i "get off the floor" (am no longer waiting on tables) i have about an hour to an hour and a half's worth of "side work" (ie. rolling silverware, filling up the salad dressings, scraping tape off the bread machine, etc.) all for a whopping $2.12 an hour.  apparently, a server is supposed to do this "side work" while she is serving her guests.  yet, she is supposed to put her guests first and help out the other servers while she is on the floor.  it's pretty nutty.  i've met some neat people though, and the managers are pretty good to work for.  i've made some friends too, which is nice.

the past four days i haven't been working, however.  it was my monthly sickness.  i swear i can't go a month without getting so sick i have to miss work.  this time it was an acute sinus infection. it felt like strep and the flu mixed together.  my throat hurt, my whole body ached, and i had a continual fever of 100 degrees.  today is the first day i could actually get up and do a few things.

jon and i had a good day together.  i got up and made apple cinnamon pancakes.  they were yummy.  then we looked at brokeback parody trailers online.  you should check out his--it's quality.  go to kidfear's lj and click on his link.  brokeback redemption!  yea!

anyway, then we went to wal-mart where we ran into his high school french teacher.  he was fascinating.  we chatted with him a bit and then headed to uncle lee's for some electrical outlets and light switches.  we then came home, changed out some outlets, etc. and picked up a pizza from papa manzo's.  if you're ever in the 'berg, you should definitely try papa manzo's.  yummy good pizza!

we're about to watch king kong.  jon stopped at joey's to pick up some mic's for recording tomorrow.  i tried vacuuming the florida room, but the vacuum started smoking.  i literally thought it was going to catch fire.  now the room smells like cotton linen and burnt rubber.  i'll have jon look at it when he gets home.  oh yeah, i sent him to wal-mart for some lemonade.  we've been buying the wal-mart brand frozen lemonade.  it is so good, even addictive!

anyway, there's my update.

oh yeah!  i almost forgot.  i spent an amazing wonderful day in bowling green on tuesday (before i got sick).  i got most stuff with my transcript worked out and spent time with alex and merideth.  i talked to several of my old professors...  basically, i was very encouraged all around.  and, i may be able to take a few classes this summer and go back full-time in the fall!  i'm so ready to go back to school!  no more screwing around with these jobs i don't belong in.

let me also say, before i close, that i am very blessed to be the wife of jonathon eugene doss.  he is my best friend and the most amazing man.
