moving madness
everything bad that could happen right this second is rapidly unfolding. the leasing office for where we are supposed to be moving told us that since the management at bretts old complex has changed, only one of us had rental history and the security deposit sky-rocketed from $150 to a full months rent, in the amount of $1380, which is an unexpected up front fee that we just can't foot. brett was livid and called the leasing office informing them that what they told us is unacceptable, they never mentioned the possibility of the security deposit being an entire months rent, and that they said this process was to take 48 hours and its not 4 days later and they still have not confirmed rental history. the guy at the leasing office had told jarett that albert was the only one with verifiable rental history BEFORE he even checked out the information that brett submitted. now the past couple of times today that jarett and brett have spoken with this guy, he has been playing telephone tag with brett's old complex, when he originally was supposed to mail paperwork to them to get the information he needed to verify their rental history. this whole situation is just getting ridiculous, and the last I heard, when brett got off the phone with the leasing office he told them we would pay no more than $400 for a security deposit and that what they were doing was unimaginably unacceptable. so that is where we stand now. the leasing office was on their way to calling brett's old complex again, and told brett he would see what he could do to lower the security deposit and keep it low, but that he could not guarantee anything. i am just sitting tight and hoping for the best. i have been so negative about everything lately because i am having such a hard time finding a job and it's making things financially crushing for me, but i could really use some sort of miracle right now so that this works out in our favor. fuck!
