I cleaned out my apartment at University Courtyard today. It looked so empty. I was almost sad for a moment, and then I smelled weed and heard obnoxiously loud laughter and saw cocaine fall out of Haley's bag. So I tried to escape unnoticed, but got a fake-ass hug from Rayne and a tongue-in-cheek mouth-trumpeting of taps from Chris, who was over. It was an extremely long process, because I had to do a lot of it alone. Amber was in class for much of it, and Stephanie didn't get off work until 4. But they helped a lot, and made it only a twelve-hour process.

The most important part of my day was my lunch with Amber. We went to I Heart Sushi and got some bento boxes and had a typical lunch for us. We talked about all the stupid things we always talk about. Work, school, love, life, art, banana bread. There was an elderly woman sitting at a table behind us, and she kept chuckling at us under her breath. It eventually escalated to where she laughed so hard she spilled food all down her front and told us we needed counseling. We laughed and told her we'd probably drive the counselors to counseling themselves. We continued our conversation, the woman throwing in her two cents over her shoulder now and again. The elderly woman got up to leave, and as she passed by our table, she stopped. She put a hand on each of our shoulders and said, "Girls, I want you to know that you've made my lunch so much better today. You see, I'm very sick. And no one would come here with me today. This is my last time coming here, and I want you to know that you two have made it very memorable." And with that, she walked away.
