My Extended Long Weekend

Jan 15, 2007 22:09

Wow, it's funny how when you get locked down in something like a full time job, at the first chance for a break, you suddenly go crazy.
Crazy-good, not crazy-bad.
Unless you're crazy-bad.
I'm not.
But anyway, that's exactly what happened this Friday when I got my first day off, and carried over until today, which is my last day off. Let's see, how did it all go down.
However, little do you, the reader, know (And neither did I until just now when I confused myself trying to remember exactly what happened), but my weekend started Thursday night. Wait... no. Or yes. Shoot, I'm all confused again. Ohhhh right, I lied to you. See, I hardly know you and I'm already lieing to you. Let's start over -- on Thursday night, I hurried out to Burnaby to watch the game with Rogan at Boston Pizza, since he was just getting off when it started. After that dissapointing loss, we went back to his house and played NHL '07 for a number of hours, and it occurs to me that I've already told you that. Ok, so then I went to the office (we're on Friday now if you're having trouble keeping up), and home to bed early cause I had to work on Saturday. See, that's what messed me up, cause I thought I got the whole weekend off. I didn't. Work was good, I finally worked up the courage to face the customers, and by and large they didn't maul me so it went alright. And other than breaking one progressive lens (the most expensive ones we have in store) the day went very well. After work I scurried to my parents to catch the third period of the Vancouver - Toronto thrashing, and then ran quick as I could out to Boston Pizza to return Rogan his wallet, which I stole the night before. Then I did a quick turn around and headed to Rev's Bowling in Burnaby to meet up with Kjell and co. to do a round or two of the ol' lanes. Altogether there was me, Kjell, Kjell's gf Vivian, Vivian's friend Jenny, Dan, Shelby, Tanya, and four or five guys from school I hadn't met before. Yeah, a large crowd for sure. While we waited for two hours for some open lanes, Dan and I played pool against Kjell and another one of his friends. We were doing really well (meaning Dan was sinking balls left, right and center while I was cheering him on) until Dan sunk the 8 ball, and then round two we were doing really well again when I hit the cue ball off the right side, bounced over three of my balls and hit the 8 ball into the corner pocket. The cue ball went off the table and into the crowd of our friends.
It was hilarious.
We bowled after that, and Jenny pretty much beat our whole team, and my first game was a write-off. The second game I got two strikes and then a spare in a row, and ended up with a 116. I don't know what that means in bowler-talk exactly, but usually I just try to break 100. So all-in-all, a successful night.
Sunday I went to church, where Greg finished his talk on meeting God more personally, which was cool, but I have to say that I'm super excited about the upcoming messages on Revelation. It'll be interesting to see his take on the whole thing.
That night I went to the Frogstone Grill with my brother and his friends, which was alright. I've never really liked it there, but that's mostly just because I prefer to eat at Red Robins if I'm going to eat anywhere in Maple Ridge. That's no secret.
Today I went to SFU for lunch, but I got there way too early to meet up with Shannon, so I waited for Kjell to get there and we went out for pizza. While I was waiting, I waited outside, and man was it cold. Afterwards, I still had an hour or so to wait, so I actually went indoors and drew some more (which is what I was doing outside) until she was on her break and we could hang out. We had a good talk which I enjoyed, though it was brief, and then it was back home again to try and get some work done. I got some new tires on my car, went into work for a bit, and then finished up my project at my dad's. And now I'm home and ready for bed cause I gotta drive out to Chilliwack in the morning, eather permitting. So let's hope for snow! Yay!
I got caught on the phone a couple paragraphs ago, which is why I kind of summed this up real quick. =P
