So I finally watched (almost) the whole Steve Job's announcement on the new iPhone coming out in June, and I have to say, I might have wetted myself. If you thought my old Nokia slide-phone was sexy, which I did, this thing would blow your mind. I think I would sell my younger brother for one.
I think they'd want alot more.
Ok, so I'm joking (heart you Sean) but it will still be an amazing thing. If you're at all interested in such things (which I wouldn't blame you if you wern't, some people actually have real lives), you should check it out. The only two downsides I can see, which have to do with having only a touch-screen with no stylus to work with, is that you'd smudge it all the timem which would send my OCD into full gear and I'd obsessively be cleaning it all the time, and that the screen would scratch alot. I wonder what kind of scratch-resistant coating they have on there... I wonder if one could get a hard coat or a super shield coating applied to... Oh wait, going into work-mode there for a minute.
It's really neat, cause alot of this stuff is finally sticking at work. Stuff like prescriptions are easier to understand (say a +1.50 -1.00 x090 left eye distance prescription I'd pull a +0.50 -1.00 TT lens out of the like 5th drawer from the top... stuff like that), but the last two days haven't been very much help. don't get me wrong, I love the snow, but I think I actually did more work shoveling it twice on Wednesday than I did actual work! Now, I'm not one to complain when not-doing-work is involved -- I have enough entertainment going on in my head to keep me amused for extended periods of time -- however I really want to learn all I possibly can in the shortest amount of time. And you can only go over so much theory before you need to put it to good use, else you forget it all anyway. Still, things are progressing well, and I'm on schedule to move out to Chilliwack for a week starting next Tuesday. Still haven't found anyone to stay with, but it seems my boss did her part and found someone for me. Which was really kind of her -- I didn't relish the thought of driving out there and back every day. Once, twice maybe, fine. All week? Naw. The last time I had to do that was when I was working on commercials and we did a A&W shoot out there. However, that was just a one-day shoot, event though I had to be there for something insane like 6am, and then we wrapped at like 9pm. Fun times, lol.
The Canucks finally lost last night, but that was to be expected. Rogan and I made up for it by playing hours and hours of NHL '07 last night, on the Canucks season, and we beat like every team. It was very vindicating. But I'm officially bored right now, and if he doesn't wake up real quick, I might be tempted to drive home and do some real work. Yeah, it's a sad, sad day when Rob turns to work as an alternative to sitting around. =P
