Dinner With A Cannibal

Well my predictions came true, unsuprisingly. During the famed staff meeting which would allegedly reshape the course of the human race, was in actuality very tame. They adressed all the things they thought needed adressing, which was true, but didn't slam anything on us we hadn't been expecting to hear anyway. We did however end up having quite a good day, despite being exhausted cause we had to get up half an hour earlier than normal.
I guess to make up for the meeting, my manager went out and bought a case of booze for us to enjoy after work, and a couple of us stayed and chatted it up for a couple hours. I sort of did it because I didn't really have a reason not to, and thus no choice. But it was insightful, and fun! It's interesting to see what you can learn about people after they've had a few in them. Afterwards, I had a really good long talk with my manager about the future, and where I would be headed in the company. Not satisfied with medeocraty, I expressed an interest to move up in the ranks, and she made it clear that she felt the same way. She feels none of the other employees are what would be sufficient to run the store after she moves on to a higher calling, and wants to groom me for that. Kind of weird to be having that kind of talk after only two months, but it gives me a bit more hope for the future. Plus the pay and the benefits are quite good, so I have to say that I'm pretty happy.
Hmm I feel like I'm forgetting to write something important. Oh well, it's late, so the brain is working at a fraction of it's usual capacity, which is a fraction of it's total capacity on a good day. I watched two of the Hannibal movies tonight, The Silence Of The Lambs, and Hannibal. Tomorrow, hopefully I can watch Red Dragon and then hit up Hannibal Rising in the theatres on Wednesday. That would be nice.
