Summary: He could be called the ultimate narcissist for this.
He could be called the ultimate narcissist for this. She was him.
Wilson saw it, hell, Foreman even saw it, he didn’t think the new fellows knew him well enough to see it.
Cuddy wouldn’t allow three Houses running about the hospital. House Classic (the true-blue original), ‘House Lite’ as Cuddy called Foreman (the sensible version), and House-in-a-skirt (which he thought was clever, since he made it up, this version is the Cutthroat).
It was odd that someone who was basically every horrible thing that House loved about himself was so abrasive. So dislikable to him.
She was pretty, she was funny. He could understand that point of view. He, of course, saw the worst in her because he always saw the worst in himself.
But the difference was the he liked the worst in himself.
He didn’t really appreciate the worst in Amber.
But he could see why someone could…
Wilson, particularly, who had put and humored the horrible things House did, considered doing and regretted doing. Wilson had a new House it seemed.
“Just accept he’s happy,” Foreman said from behind him.
House moved away from the window and rolled his eyes. “I thought you knew me better than that.” But of course, he would listen to Foreman and leave it alone in his own special way. Which, incidentally, didn’t involve leaving it alone at all.
The hardest thing to admit is that you don’t hate your best friend’s girlfriend.
