Countdown to cheese in 5....4.....3....2....
I had SO much fun last night! I went on my first date in.....I don't know how long....a long time. A picnic in the park, a tour of neat views of the city that few people know about, playing in the fountain park at Crown Center (you know, those fountains that come out of the sidewalk that you're supposed to run around in!), going into Union Station, climbing onto an abandoned train track bridge over the Missouri River and walking halfway across on the slats looking down at the rocks then the water waaaay below us, long red hair, great listener, amazingly spiritual, well-traveled, we left 3 watermelons next to 3 sleeping homeless guys, we sat and talked for hours, he helps run a recycling center, and knows about sustainable housing, wants to give everyone a bicycle, I'm so amazed at this. I am so appreciative of this. It's the last thing I thought I wanted, and it's so beautiful, and I don't even know him yet! He brought me chocolate. Every moment I've spent with him has been out of a movie. We're going to a Jerry Garcia birthday celebration outside of the art museum on Sunday.
I spent 4 hours with the maintenance guy yesterday, he bought me a new ceiling fan and made my stove and oven work and drilled holes in the ceiling for my hanging lamp!
I have a Kansas Driver's License again, and my picture is hilarious. He told me to sit down in the blue chair and look directly at Mickey Mouse, at which point I cracked up, and he snapped my picture. I'm getting everything done! I'm gonna get everything done!!!!
I'm slacking a bit on unpacking, but I think if I actually force myself to do it, I can do it in 2-3 days, and have everything in perfect order by then.
I'm missing my friends. I'm having tons of fun here, but I'm missing some people a lot. I love you guys. And it seems like everyone spread out, anyway....
