Well, I got my two imported DVDs today. I popped one in the DVD player and the first thing I got was a region whine screen. Not to be discouraged, I had the magic set of button pushes (5 in all) to use on the remote. Next thing I know, the DVD is playing in all its anamorphic splendor. my one now has the "secret menu" option in setup to change the region to whatever you want.
i believe it was 6 buttons though :(

Hehehe. But yours is probably a permanent change once you make it? I need to use my buttons every time I use a non-region 1 DVD. Or I could download some file and burn a CD that would give me access to the hidden menu. But then I run the risk of messing up my player with the new RCE region 1 disks that are coming out. So it is just easier to get the player to ignore the disks on a case by case basis.
