So I left off with Versailles I believe...and the next day was Wednesday. Woke up and did laundry in the apartment. Staying in an apartment in Paris was really cool. It was nice because I felt like I was living in the city even if for only a few days.
I went off my own on Wednesday because my friends I was travelling with went to a Modern Art Museum. Also I had told another friend from interning the last summer that I would meet him on the Pont Neuf (He is studying at the Sorbonne...alas he received my message too late haha). But regardless it was a very fun day. I went off to the Latin Quarter and explored there. Then I went and ate my lunch on a bench near the Seine. Then I went back to the apartment for a quick nap. After that I went to the Jardin de Tuileries to sit and then walked through the Palais de Louvre courtyard...
One interesting thing in Europe are these gypsy girls will come up to you and ask if you speak english...my italian skills come in handy because I just say ¨solo italiano¨lol
ah i am a jerk I know but I wont give them money anyways so this easier...
After that I sat on the edge of Ile de St. Louis or Ile de La Cite...I forget which...but it is in the middle of the Seine and there are some nice gardens there.
Then walked over to the Place de Vosges and the Place de Bastille and then walked back. I was able to see the huge Hotel de Ville (which is a mansion, hotel in french does not mean hotel as it does in english ;))
Then I met up with the friends again and went to help Anita find her french friend near the opera house but it didn´t pan out as plan. Anita had to go up to 20 random french girls and ask if they were Marie...haha it was like out of a movie...then we went back to the apartment.
Then we made dinner and made a brownie loaf (brownie mix is different in france) and watched CSI in French!
Then next day we woke up early and got on our bus that would take us to Barcelona...
Interestingly the French were stricter than the Spanish with carry on. I am carrying Michigan jam for relatives in Sicily (gifts), but I don´t consider it a gel or liquid...but they made me take it out. and they went through my backpack...but they didn´t make me throw anything away and were really nice. Just interesting that Spain let way more go through! It might be because Beauvais is a smaller airport and they have way less to do.
It was sad leaving Paris because it was so amazing. Just HUGE, GRAND, and ORNATE. The people were nice, and I think that had alot to do with the fact that I wasn´t with a huge group of people. I hope to go back toParis in the future, but when I have more money. It is sooooooooooooo expensive.
Au revoir!
