I'm very happy to have finally made a video of my drawing process. Or part of it anyway. I get sick of people asking me how I make my art and when I explain it they still look at me like I'm speaking Chinese. I also used my new mic to voice over this. Saturday Chris took me out to another shell store in Largo. The owner there was very nice too. He took us into the back room and showed us some newly arrived king's crown conch. This is a type I have been looking for. We got to pick out our faves from a bucket full that had just been cleaned. I bought some lovely cones that I had had on my list. ( Read more... )

So things are finally getting back to normal here after Peregrine left. I've started training Nautica to do tricks. I've never trick trained any bird so this will be a first. I am finding that doing so causes our bond to strengthen and she's learning to associate her little perch with good things. When I pick it up to clean the table she gets all ( Read more... )

I spent most of today editing this. I'm quite proud of it. So the only thing missing is his eyebrows and his claws. I'll work on those next. I will be getting his wings eventually and that will be the icing on the cake.

So yesterday I had a very nice time with Chris. We went out to a park and took some photos. We saw a huge female black racer. She was so pretty and came so close to us.
