New pet in the collection
This has been a good weekend. I didn't post yesterday because I was bugged about some stupid online stuff and was a bit of a grumpy bear. But all's well now. I went on a spamming spree on DA. I must have posted to 20 or 30 different people inviting them to the board. Unlike most spammers I don't do hit and runs. If these folks respond I'll talk back to them. I hope this will work and finally pump some life into my poor board. Tomorrow I'll start to work on my Cars site. I'm really looking forward to it and to having my Boost Exposed Story there instead of on my journal. It's doing very well on DA. I've gotten lots of comments on the art. I'm amazed how everyone's focusing on Snot Rod. He's not even the main character and he's not even in the story except for a little at the beginning and the end. But because he was hurt and abandoned everyone feels sorry for him and focuses on that. I just think it's interest how people react. I've only had one person react the way I'd hoped by being angry at the things Boost has done.
Yesterday we went to the park again. We were looking for the hummingbird but no luck. I did get to see the Red Shouldered hawks flying around and screaming. That was pretty cool. We then came home and watched The Godfather. I liked it and want to play the video game now. I hear you can customize your main character. I really want to make him look like Solan if that's the case. That would be so cool. Chris has been playing Scarface and I've been having a good time watching him. I've kinda beaten Cars to death now and I realy can't think of any other creative ways to play it. Perhaps it's finally time to put it aside and start on a new game. I still need to find out how to crack those darn .pak files. That's one of those computer things that made me so angry last night. We also finished all the eps of season one My Name Is Earl. We're gonna watch some of our favorite eps again because that show rocks. It's so funny. I've realized why I like it so much. All the characters are bad guys. Despite the fact that Earl's trying to be better and fix all the bad things he did, he still messes up because it's not easy for him to shake his old nature. And the flash backs of the stuff he did are so funny. And all his friends are bad people too. It's great.
I dreamt about Chick last night!! My first official Cars dream! It's about time. Well I'm not going to post it here. NYAH!! If anyone wants to read it I'll post it on my dream journal thagirion. It's a friend's only so if you are interested you have to ask me to join it. Anyway, it was an interesting and fun dream. Oh, I sent off two packages today. So cheezey and darknessiguana watch your mail boxes. But it's a darn holiday tomorrow! Man I HATE these pointless holidays that screw up the mail and the banks. We have WAY TOO MANY. And they always pop up when I'm trying to mail something. What is it, Columbus Day or something? Ok it's important that he discovered America. So have kids draw pictures of ships but don't close the mail and banks over it! Stupid holidays. The only holidays when stuff closes should be on 4th of July and Christmas. And if they happen to fall on a Sunday then they can't take Friday or Monday off. Too bad! Yes you'll hear me rant about this every holiday.
Ok where was I? Today was a very nice day. We went to Home Depot and finally got the replacement halogen bulb for my lamp. I've been sitting in a dark computer room since it burnt out and that really limited my drawing time. We drove by a Dodge dealership and they had a sweet black Viper RT/10 on display. OH! I wanted it. Oh almost forgot. When we were at Home Depot Chris bought me a white egg plant. Once it was cool enought we worked in the garden. I planted the egg plant in the raised bed. Chris helped to lay down new black mulch and I'm going to try again with the watermelons and pumpkins. I pruned my poor banana peppers that are constantly wilty. I don't know why they are like that. I wonder if they are sick. That would suck. I don't know if they are annuals or perenials. If they are annuals they may be at the end of their lives. The egg plant is tall and looks so nice. I picked one that had lots of flower buds. I don't like to eat egg plants and got it mostly because it's ornamental. I'll probably give away the eggplants that grow on it. Since they're white they're gonna really look like eggs. Oh they had Chamoile, red shrimp plant and red porter weed. I may go back to pick those up because I want them for my garden.
Well while Chris was preparing the soil for the black mulch I heard him yell, "SNAKE!" I go, "WHERE!" And ran over to look. He pointed to a small snake and asked me if it was a garter. I got all excited and said no. It was a young black racer. He was little and mean! I tried to catch him and chased him all over the yard. He would strike a lot. I know these guys are mean, but it was so young I wanted him. Then the silly thing went under my foot and I caught him. Chris got a critter box for me and we put him in there. Young racers are brown with spots on their backs and red marks under them. They turn black when they become adults. I've always wanted a black racer but I wanted a young one so I could work with it. This is the first one I've seen one and knew not to pass this up. He'd had a bad shed so I soaked him in some shed ease for 20 minutes and got most of it off. The rest will have to come off in his next shed. I'm gonna have to go pick up another 10 gallon tank with lid tomorrow. I thought I had an extra one but I guess I didn't. Wow new pet. I'm excited about this. I hope that having a young one I can tame him down some, but I've heard racers are mean and few tame down. He may end up being meaner than Verdi. I love mean snakes! They are more interesting. I wanted to name him after a real racer since that's what he is. Chris suggested I name him Gordon. I was cracking up at that. What a nice name for a mean snake, but it's so funny. Why not? Gordon it is then. I need a back up name in case later I find out he's a Gordette. So that brings me up to 14 snakes.
