Harry Potter | Harry/Hermione/Ron; Albus Dumbledore | PG-13| ~ 8,500 words
When Dumbledore leaves the trio the means to destroy Voldemort, they hesitate. It looks real, but there are pieces missing from the puzzle. In the aftermath, they discover that all their best guesses as to the consequences of their actions are wrong, that Dumbledore was less than truthful, and that they have only each other left to hold on to.
-- > I don't quite remember how I stumbled upon this story but I'm glad I did.
This is a harsh story, almost bleak. This Dumbledore here is darker than Rowling wants us to see him, but still so very recognizable.
I loved the trio's characterization, very much them, a bit more grown up, a little sharper, and still so very much them.
Hermione's voice was spot on. It makes me wish for more stories with her.

Bandom | Joe/Mikey | PG | ~ 4,100 words
Pretty much everyone Joe's met since it happened bitches about the ash. It's the new small talk. It's everywhere, a fact of life. Joe doesn't really mind it, though. Sometimes it swirls on the breeze in big white flakes that remind him of snow. He misses snow a lot, which surprises him. He remembers bitching about the winter back when there still was one. - Apocalypse fic.
-- > Oh, this is so heartbreaking. There are shimmerings of hope though.
I love Joe's voice, it rings true to me. I like the pacing, and the progression of Joe and Mikey's relationship.
