March is Women's History Month in the United States. And March 8 is International Women's Day. I figured that in honor of that fact, I would list some of my favorite female characters from television shows and ask you guys to do the same. So, let's have it. Who are your top five favorite fictional women and why?
1. Delenn and Ivanova from Babylon 5
I truly can't decide whom I love more. Babylon 5 had so many awesome female characters but those two I truly love. There was such strength in both of them, and they could both kick ass.
2. Amanda from Highlander
When I first watched the show I had a bit of a crush on her. I loved her independence and how she carried herself. I loved the history aspect of the show and was truly impressed that she had managed to stay alive for such a long time and that as a woman.
3. Sam Carter from Stargate SG-1
I love her strength and her geekiness.
4. Lwaxana Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space 9
I simply adore her. Her flashiness and her strength and her love for her daughter and everything.
5. Kira Nerys from Star Trek: Deep Space 9
It took me a while to get warm to her, but when I did I just loved her. I really like her strength, and her power. I was impressed how she fought for what she believed in and how she learned to move on without loosing herself.
