I'm wondering how everyone here deals with stereotypes, especially when it comes to passing as the opposite sex.

I'm all for it, of course, but - I do have a few issues with trying to pass as the man I am inside.

Specifically? I'm young, and I'm at an age of experimentation with style. I'm into body modification, I also wear eyeliner on the rare ( Read more... )

Don't worry, you're not the only one. I'm FTM, and I'm proud to say that I'm not macho, I can a big girls blouse and burst into tears at sad endings in movies, will wear a flower in my hair if someone gives me one, and will go gooey over anything small and fluffy.

However, I don't like pink. ;)

I had an argument with someone over my wearing make up and being trans.

I was dressed as Captain Jack bloody Sparrow at the time! And frankly - I grew up thinking that David Bowie was the best thing since Nutella on toast - would be stranger if I didn't like the odd dab now and again.

hmm. it can be difficult. i've never really been totally flaming but i do have some trouble passing for straight, so i somewhat see what you mean - i often worry if my slight campness will hinder passing, and in some respects i have deliberately tried not to act that way in the hope i don't 'give myself away'. it seems a shame to have to do that, but i suppose you have to weigh up what is most important to you personally - being seen as a guy, or expressing yourself fully as a somewhat feminine individual ( ... )

my dear thare are stacks and stacks of gay f2M's and a whole bunch of them are drag queens too, beside you have to be a real man to look good in a dress!!!

btw Its not teh opposite sex, its the other sex, or if you like thirdgender identities another sex!
