Before I ate lunch today, I scheduled a 3:20 appointment with a doctor to find out what to do about my sore throat. After lunch, I went into the freezer for an Italian ice, with the hope that the cold slushiness would soothe me. It was only after I finished it that I realized I'd made a big mistake in choosing a cherry-flavored one. Now, the doctor will have to try to filter out the food coloring redness when inspecting for the real redness. And what will the lab tech think when my strep swab looks bloody? I've already tried brushing my teeth and gargling with Listerine, but if my tongue is a reliable indicator of the color change my throat is exhibiting, it wasn't nearly enough.
