Boggle, Boggle, Boggle, Boggle, Boggle, Boggle, BIG BOGGLE

ddmerillat and I just played a few rounds of Boggle, followed by one round of Big Boggle. I used to be proud of my time spent reading the dictionary and the thesaurus, and Boggle is a place to shine. As Dave had never played before, I had a big leg up. Even so, he quickly discovered the joy of short bursts of intense concentration.

Big Boggle is a bit more intimidating. It was originally manufactured in the late 1970s, then again in the late 1990s as an anniversary edition. I tried like mad to get a copy on eBay a few years ago, but was always outbid at the last minute. Hearing of this, mab42's then-fiance swiped her parents' copy and they gave it to me as a groomsmen present. Thanks, Matt & Jill! Big Boggle has twenty-five cubes compared to Boggle's sixteen, and it's a bit easier to find the larger words. We only played the one round of Big Boggle tonight, but my score on that round was double my score on any of the Boggle rounds. I was especially thrilled to find "sonata" and "sonatas", which I'd been close to finding on previous rounds.
