FIC The Science of Interfacing part 5 anonymous May 25 2009, 21:56:39 UTC
Skyfire circled the supposed battle in confusion. He had been diverted from his patrol to help cover Ratchet and transport any wounded that needed to be taken back to the ark. Thing was, it didn't look like anyone was actually fighting down there. They were all just standing around staring at... oh. Oh, well then.

He circled closer to get a better look at the mechs holding everyone's attention. There were Sideswipe and Perceptor being manhandled by Sunstreaker, although they didn't seem to be protesting the treatment. Wheeljack and Skywarp? Skyfire tsked, mentally shaking his head. That mech really didn't have any sense of self preservation, did he? And off to the side there was... oh, Pit.

Wobbling slightly, Skyfire transformed and landed, stumbling, just to the side of the exhibitionists. He cycled his optics once, wondering if maybe they were glitchy. No, that was definitely Starscream. And Bluestreak. Well, slag.

He looked at Bluestreak critically, searching for any indication the young mech was unwilling or frightened but he seemed amenable, if a bit nervous. He watched as Starscream opened Blue's codpiece, giving the mech a moment to accept the idea before gentle fingers brushed against sensitive wiring. The Datsun only hesitated a moment before pressing into the touch, moaning softly.

Skyfire had never been a jealous mech, even when he and Starscream had been free to see each other openly. The idea of the red and white seeker with another mech had never bothered him, in fact it was not uncommon for Starscream to bring a mech home with him, hoping Skyfire might be in the mood for a bit of fun. He had been a little worried about Blue, but the gunner seemed to be enjoying himself and Skyfire knew his lover could be very gentle when the situation called for it.

Glancing about, he caught Thundercracker's optic, raising one hand slightly in greeting. The blue seeker looked to see if anyone was paying him any attention before sidling over to the large shuttle.

He'd always found Thundercracker easy to be around. The seeker was very low-key compared to his wing mates and he had a quiet, thoughtful air about him.

Looking up at the large 'bot, Thundercracker tilted his head questioningly. Skyfire smiled reassuringly down at him, making a small, dismissive gesture with his hand. He wasn't upset. It was a bit frustrating, though. Watching Starscream with the young, attractive mech was triggering a very enthusiastic response from his interface wiring. Unfortunately, he was fairly certain Starscream wouldn't be able to slip away for quite some time after pulling a stunt like this.

Hearing Skyfire's fans kick on, Thundercracker snickered, grinning at the sulky glare the big mech gave him. "Oh, it's fine for you, isn't it?" Crossing his arms huffily, Skyfire sighed. "You three go at it like petro-rabbits over there and I've got to wait deca-cycles for him to skulk away long enough for a quick interface against a rock some place."

Giving the laughing seeker a gentle, playful shove he turned his attention back to the jet and his prey. "How did he manage this sort of mess in the first place?"

Shrugging the blue seeker waved at the shameless mechs, "Your guess is as good as mine. One minute I'm chasing down an Aerialbot with Skywarp, next thing I know he's disappeared. It took me a couple breems to shake the 'bot and when I was finally able to go looking for him I found him under your engineer."

Sharing a quiet laugh, they settled in to watch the show, every now and then sharing an observation or a brief story, enjoying the chance to put aside factions and share a bit of camaraderie.
