Just a question about what constitutes canon for things like the Bay movies and the Prime series. There are several characters who don't appear in the core canon but are there peripherally (like Thundercracker in Prime and Cliffjumper in the Bayverse) in the supporting comics, novelizations, games, and toyline. Are these supplementary characters canon for purpose of the weekly requests?

Yes, characters who appear in the supplemental materials for a continuity count for that continuity. So, sticking with your Bayverse example, Skywarp, Ramject, Thrust and Thundercracker are canon but Minerva (TFA and Headmasters) would not be.
