She'd tried to sleep, curled up in her blanket nest and warm, but she couldn't get her brain to settle down enough. Things were just so complicated, and getting more so the longer Ratchet kept hiding from everyone. Things were so... she didn't know what, but that's what things were. She hadn't missed all the times Swoop looked toward Ratchet's room sadly or the anger and disapproval Prowl had shot toward him when Ratchet and Bluestreak had come back down to the party. She certainly hadn't missed the fact that Ratchet hadn't come to see her or even tried to talk with her for... ages. Not since he'd almost died
( ... )
*halting his motions and staring at his reflection in the overly shiny surface of the bench, he glanced over his shoulder at the voice and quirked an optic ridge*
Mm, it does have its charms, yes.
*throwing her a smirk, he beckons, Sari closer. Putting aside his well used cleaning cloth, he makes her a warm drink and offers it while finding her a blanket. The cold weather wasn't something that bothered him too much while inside but he knew that the medbay wasn't too warm for Sari at the moment*
Why are you up? I thought you'd be sleeping by now. *he tilts his helm with a warm smile, already knowing the answer to his question* Is everything alright?
When he sits, she snuggles up to him. She's glad that it was Prowl who was down her tonight, because he was warm and comforting, even when he was asking the tough questions.
I don't really want to talk about it, no. It's all stuff I've said a million times before anyway. Swoop's a good listener, even if he doesn't always know what to say.
She takes a sip of her drink. What about you? You want to talk about it?
*hums quietly, holding Sari close, making sure she's comfortable*
Hm I think you've heard it all before, Sari... you know I'm not happy with your current living situation.
*he shook his helm in mild frustration*
It's not my place to decide what's best for you, but I'd prefer you to be somewhere where somebody was looking out for you, Swoop does a lot but he has a home and I don't like thinking of you here, being cold if nothing else.
*trails off, visor dim as he feels he's said too much, it was always up to Sari what she wanted to do, he could only be there to support her*
Anyway, how's Annie doing? *hopes the change of subject will cheer her up, which sparks something he'd almost forgotten about*
Also I have something that may cheer you up, if you're interested
I know. Things aren't so good around here anymore. She takes another sip of her drink. The heat's the stupid computer's fault; it'll do everything I tell it except turn the heat up.
She smiles a little when Prowl brings up Annie. She really does like that bird. Annie's okay. She doesn't like the cold much either, though. And since it's so cold, we can't go outside and get bugs, so she's having to eat fruit and chicken feed and stuff but she doesn't seem to mind that too much. She made a nest out of one of my blankets and put it in my sun chair. She looks like a big puffball when she's sitting in it.
Something for me? She feels a thrill of childish glee and grins. What?
*chuckles at the image, the bird sure was an oddity and probably missing Lockdown too. At least she was in good hands with Sari*
Well remember when Lockdown and I found Annie? And you said you'd have liked to have seen that island?
*retrieves a delicate wooden carving from his subspace. It's the image of baby birds and their mother perched proudly on the side, all looking like they could be related to annie*
Well I saved the image of what I saw in that tree and I wanted you to have it *smiles modestly* it's nothing special really
*hands the gift over and smiles brightly at her enthusiasm*
I'm glad you like it, and it's good to see you smiling again *gently strokes her hair* mm yes I made it from some left over wood at the Dojo *tilts his helm peering at the gift* it's just a little something, I also have pictures which I can upload to the computer if you want to look at them at some point *his smile widens as she hugs him, glad that he could lighten her mood*
Mm... want to hear some good news? Well that I think is good news...
It's great, Prowl. Especially because you made it. She looks at the carving and smiles again. And I'd love to see the pictures too!
Her grin widens at his mention of good news. Good news and presents? Must be Christmas or something. She hopes he'll understand her teasing. Sometimes they (still) didn't always quite connect there. Tell me.
But we just had Christmas... didn't we? *murmurs before dismissing it with better news*
Well, now we haven't told anyone yet, but I wanted you to have maybe something to look forward to... *realises he's babbling a little and he chuckles at himself before inhaling deeply*
Jazz and I have agreed to bond...
*trails off as he hears the words out loud for the first time* we haven't discussed a date yet, I hope you can be part of any ceremony we have though *murmurs fondly*
Nope you're the first *beams brightly at her reaction*
I'm not sure how Jazz wants to do things, but I'm happy for you to know *grins in amusement* especially seeing as it's the most I've seen you smile in a whole day *teases gently as he carefully hugs her*

I couldn't sleep. Too many things going on in my head. Some nights are just like that, especially since we got here.

I can understand that.
*staring at the counter he'd been obsessively cleaning, his smile faded*
I've been preoccupied somewhat myself.
*looking back at Sari as she sips her drink, his visor dims in sad thought*
Do you want to tell me about these things in your head?

She snuggles against him and hugs him as best she can. Did you make it yourself?
