Ultra Magnus, drone of Primus. He probably has a good reason.
7. What are the colors of the Transformers’ auras?
Would they even have auras or would their auras work differently? I personally imagine their electromagnetic fields are their auras.
11. There are a dozen theories as to how ‘bots interface - to spare tender eyes, I won’t list them here. What if, instead of being mutually exclusive, the method is up to the individual ‘bot’s preference? I could see some ‘bots shunning or teasing those who use a less ‘socially acceptable’ method.
Actually, I totally agree with that - all ways are valid (up to and including tasteful sticky), it's just a matter of preference and social mores.
12. Do Cybertronians have ice cream parlors/candy shops/restaurants/etc?
They serve specialty energon, oil confectionary (and anything else you can think that a robotic race might eat - I'm personally very influenced by i_stalk_piccolo's writing when it comes to Cybertronian foods).
13. Cassette Whisperer.
Soundwave, of course. He tamed severeal unwilling Cassettes into loyal minions.
15. So, basically, Prime is a supreme leader, right? He can accept input from others, but in the end, it’s his call. How would the Autobots react to American government, which is basically one giant forum where different special interests malign each other’s logic, sanity, and character?
Actually, from what I've seen through fandom about the senate, Cybertron seems more like the Roman Empire after the Ceasars were established.
20. You know, I’m pretty sure Mirage would make a great prankster.
He thinks pulling pranks is too undignified.
21. Did Mirage and Hound ever use their forcefields to interface in the middle of the rec room? (*brain goes splodey*)
On the other hand, he has a kink for interfacing in public, without anyone besides Hound knowing what is happening.
28. My world begins and ends with you.
*Gives her Magnus muse a sidelong glance.*
31. It was not love at first sight, for this was far from first sight. It was more that connections long forgotten and buried were slowly rising from the seas of their souls. He watched as memories unfolded before his optics, images bright and dark and distant, of lands long lost and times that may as well never have been.
For some reason this made me think of Starscream and Skyfire, when they first get into a relationship.
35. “I am going to save my people. If history will paint me a villain, a monster, then so be it.”
Megatron, with originally honourable intentions.
36. He wore a dozen different masks, each one with a different expression. Happiness, anger, sadness…all feigned. He couldn’t afford to show emotion - if he did, he feared, the loneliness and the frightening, overwhelming urge to end it all would swallow him whole. Once a week, however, it got to be too much for him, and he would find a quiet corner and let himself crack, for just a moment.
Optimus Prime. He has to put on a brave, cheerful attitude in front of his troops, but does not always feel it in his spark. It helps that he has the mouth guard to hide most of his face.

I love it. Reminds me of my "music game" idea, but cross-faction.
49. Oddly enough, I like Sandstorm/Fireflight, though it’s one of the slightly more improbable pairings, but I always wonder how Octane feels. Poor ‘con gets left out all the time.
There's only one solution: THREESOME!
53. He’d never expected that Starscream could sing like that.
Soundwave is sent by Megatron to fetch Starscream for some reason, and walks into Starscream's personal lab to find the Air Commander singing - something he only does in private. Soundwave is instantly taken with Star's talent and sets about romancing him.
59. “?” he said.
...Roller. I recently saw the upcoming MP Roller toy and now he's appearing more in all my fantasies about Optimus and Magnus. The "?" is actually an electronic trill in a questioning tone, since I also imagine that Roller can't speak.
65. “He'd never realized that, deep down inside, what he really wanted to do was make things go splat.”- Reaper Man
One of the more peaceful Autobots has an unexpected violent side.
...Bluestreak.

Plus the idea of Starscream and Soundwave together is an interesting one, since most of the time Star is written as disliking Soundwave for his loyalty to Megatron.

Music game? Do tell. I haven't finished trawling the archives yet, so I do not yet know this community's running jokes. Perceptor has a tank form? Really?
There's only one solution: THREESOME!
XD The solution to every love triangle. How would it happen, though? *ponders*
Soundwave is sent by Megatron to fetch Starscream for some reason, and walks into Starscream's personal lab to find the Air Commander singing - something he only does in private. Soundwave is instantly taken with Star's talent and sets about romancing him.
And Starscream would be so freaked out, because Soundwave is usually so emotionless. *loves*

Kind of like how the 'bots talked in the movie? With beeps and whistles and chirps and such?
...Bluestreak.
Kid's gotta have some issues. The Decepticons did kill everyone in his city but him, after all.

Actually the post that I gave a description of the Music Game got deleted - I came under fire for some of the ways I handled things in the idea (it was a massive megabunny that developed over a 3 week period I was stuck offline due to compy problems).
The music game idea, on it's own, is that a tradition develops amongst the Ark Crew where people would make music requests to Blaster of what to play on the Ark's weekly social night. It became the "game" when someone went to Blaster with an anonymous request (i.e. that Blaster dedicate a specific song to someone else, not saying who requested it). It became a thing for people to make anonymous requests and it be a guessing game amongst the rest of the crew who it was, and also a great way of people to broach their romantic interests.
As for Perceptor, well I guess some of the Percy fans want a more hardcore alt for him, so he's secretly a triplechanger with a tank form.
And Starscream would be so freaked out, because Soundwave is usually so emotionless. *loves*
Heh, yes! Know one really knows all that much about Soundwave because he keeps to himself so well.
Kind of like how the 'bots talked in the movie? With beeps and whistles and chirps and such?
Yeah, kinda like that, probably also like the Mini-cons in Armada though I've never seen any of Armada. Roller's only appearances in the G1 cartoon had him sounding like Artoo - probably because there was a guy working on the sound who'd worked for Lucasfilm. Laserbeak is also well known for sounding like a tie fighter.
Kid's gotta have some issues. The Decepticons did kill everyone in his city but him, after all.
Exactly!

So Blaster is a DJ? XD It sounds kind of like that Secret Santa thing, only weekly and more awesome.
As for Perceptor, well I guess some of the Percy fans want a more hardcore alt for him, so he's secretly a triplechanger with a tank form.
Well, that makes sense. A microscope alt. form is kind of useless - it's tiny and it can't move on its own. But, where are his tank parts? And, wow, size discrepancy much?
Heh, yes! Know one really knows all that much about Soundwave because he keeps to himself so well.
And now Starscream is wondering if Soundwave's been replaced by an Autobot spy. Or reprogrammed. Or replaced by an alien. :P

A Star Wars vet worked on the Sound?! That is awesome beyond comparison. I haven't watched the cartoon in ages, so I forget what Laserbeak sounds like, but now I need to go trawl Youtube *trundles off*
Exactly!
And it manifests itself in the violent dismemberment of Decepticons!

Keep in mind that when the original G1 cartoon was made, it was only a year after Return of the Jedi was released, so at the most only two years after it was made.

But what reason? :P Did Optimus become all tyrannical and evil and such after the war? Did he majorly screw up? Did Primus get angry at him for having such a gas-guzzling alt. mode?
Would they even have auras or would their auras work differently? I personally imagine their electromagnetic fields are their auras.
I was thinking like Spark auras - energy emitted by their sparks that shows up around them like a silhouette. For that matter, what about different-colored Sparks? They can't ALL be sparkly gold things.
Actually, I totally agree with that - all ways are valid (up to and including tasteful sticky), it's just a matter of preference and social mores.
This was inspired by some fanon article (can't remember which one or where I found it) that discussed all the different theories about interfacing, and thought, why not have them all? It's like having ninja pirates who like chocolate vanilla swirl and have attack dogs and spy cats. Yeah.
They serve specialty energon, oil confectionary (and anything else you can think that a robotic race might eat - I'm personally very influenced by i_stalk_piccolo's writing when it comes to Cybertronian foods).
I believe a fanfic by Cyndi on ff.net mentioned having rust sticks and wax/oil truffles, so I was wondering, what other kinds of food could they have? What does energon taste like, and can there be different flavors?
Soundwave, of course. He tamed severeal unwilling Cassettes into loyal minions.
Soundwave: "Rumble: sit."
Rumble: *sits*
Frenzy: *snicker* Good boy.

I....had not known that. I was going off the wikipedia article, which mentioned how Prime was a religious leader, and the ultimate authority. Mayhap the latter part is because of the wartime policy...
He thinks pulling pranks is too undignified.
Maybe Hound asks him to help out in the prank war? Even dignified mechs like to see other mechs fall on their afts sometime - and it would be so unexpected.
On the other hand, he has a kink for interfacing in public, without anyone besides Hound knowing what is happening.
For once, Hound might be the embarrassed one XD
*Gives her Magnus muse a sidelong glance.*
Hmmm?
For some reason this made me think of Starscream and Skyfire, when they first get into a relationship.
So they were reincarnated? Or maybe they met a long time ago as sparklings and just found each other again! :D
Megatron, with originally honourable intentions.
And then he turns into the evil warlord we all know and love/hate. Or, maybe he's just acting the part, and he's just trying to goad Optimus into continuing the fight.
Optimus Prime. He has to put on a brave, cheerful attitude in front of his troops, but does not always feel it in his spark. It helps that he has the mouth guard to hide most of his face.
I always thought being the leader of the underdog force must be a hard job. Optimus has to keep morale up by pretending to be the perfect, unruffled leader.

Heh, LOL. Nah, considering it's my Magnus muse talking, it's probably that Optimus's spark is at some sort of risk if it remains in his body and Magnus is not willing to lose him, so the quickest and easiest way to protect him is to recall his spark to the Allspark to protect it until whatever can be solved.

I was thinking like Spark auras - energy emitted by their sparks that shows up around them like a silhouette. For that matter, what about different-colored Sparks? They can't ALL be sparkly gold things.
Well that is how I see electromagnetic fields - their fields resonate in a pattern that is the same as their sparks, and probably broadcast their moods a bit as well. They might also have sensors that allow them specifically to read electromagnetic fields so they can pick up mood changes in other Cybertronians by the changes in their fields.
As for colours of sparks, well that apparently came up in Beast Machines - everyone has different coloured sparks.

Actually, Cyndi is i_stalk_piccolo - so yes, that was exactly what I was thinking of. There's also a writer on dA at the moment who is writing a fic based on a fanart series, where Megatron infected Prowl and Hot Rod with a virus that makes them act like wild cougars. Some of the food he's been using to tame them with is stuff like polymer rubber soaked in energon. I think the logic is that their internal repair systems would use the polymer to repair stuff like wire sheathing and anything else that might need more flexible material than metal.
Personally, I imagine that any metal their bodies have somewhere in their construction, any plastics, any lubricants, coolant, etc. could be potential food for them. All it'd need is to be in a form they can swallow and digest - rust sticks are a good example, since rust is brittle.
Also, I had an idea at one time that was probably inspired by something in a fic that energon made from different fuel sources would taste different - like coal-based energon would taste different to oil-based, or solar, or energon crystals.

Well one could imagine that the rank of Prime used to be that, but in more modern times fairer forms of governing were brought into effect, so a senate was established to moderate between the people and Prime. The problem is that right before the war, the senate was highly corrupt, the Prime at the time (Sentinel Prime) was ineffective (probably crippled by the senate who didn't want him doing away with their nice money-making schemes. Then the Decepticons rose from the ranks of those the senate were oppressing and ended up killing them off, so all that's left is Optimus acting as a military commander, first and foremost, and effectively is the sole authority for the Autobots.

Well he thinks the daft things the Twins pull are totally undignified, so he ropes Hound into helping him pull some dignified pranks, just to show up the twins.
On the other hand, he has a kink for interfacing in public, without anyone besides Hound knowing what is happening.
For once, Hound might be the embarrassed one XD
There they are, sitting in the rec room. Hound is struggling not to show his embarrassment on his face, or in his EM field, while Mirage is outwardly calm as anything. Inwardly... well Mirage is gleefully getting Hound totally worked up, right in front of several unknowing friends.
*Gives her Magnus muse a sidelong glance.*
Hmmm?
Oh, I have a muse who is practically obsessive about his chosen beloved. That quote sounds like something he'd say.
For some reason this made me think of Starscream and Skyfire, when they first get into a relationship.

Now I remember what I was thinking originally - I was actually thinking more of that one being Star and Sky getting back together after the end of the war. The stuff about memories is finally seeing into each other's sparks after so long apart, and seeing their shared memories again.
Megatron, with originally honourable intentions.
And then he turns into the evil warlord we all know and love/hate. Or, maybe he's just acting the part, and he's just trying to goad Optimus into continuing the fight.
He slowly got so caught up in the brutal methods he used that he lost his way and became just as bad as the corrupt government he was trying to save Cybertron from in the first place. History will see him as the villain, but in truth if it weren't for his uprising, Cybertron would have drowned in the corruption that riddled it.

Hmm. What would a dignified prank look like? Probably no slime, goop, or chicken feathers involved... Maybe he could rig the PA system to play random horror movie sounds, and make the door panels randomly shock people? XD that would be a great Halloween prank.

XD Someone needs to draw this. NOW. I could just imagine Hound squirming and trying to talk properly, while Mirage is as cool and unflappable as ever.

Aww.

That is so sweet. Starscream annoys me sometimes, but toss Skyfire into the mix and he becomes instantly likeable :P

Wasn't that how the war started? Megatron the miner led an uprising of Transformers oppressed by the Senate? Only, I guess they got lost in hate...

That makes so much more sense ^_^;;

I...er...never watched Beast Wars *sheepish* Kind of fell out of Transformers post-G1. But the electromagnetic field is so cool. It's kind of like a limited empathy between every Cybertronian. I'd wager they'd all be fiercely protective of their personal space, then?
Actually, Cyndi is i_stalk_piccolo
*facepalm* Ehehe.

Oh, that would make sense. I'm guessing that the different flavors wouldn't be available until Earth, though, which actually HAS coal, oil, and sunlight. Maybe some of the 'bots have an aversion or allergy to Earth energon and some get a taste for it?
Well one could imagine that the rank of Prime...
...I really need to brush up on my G1 lore. I'm forgetting all this information that I know that I knew. If that makes sense.
Well, it's almost given that in wartime, certain leaders will gain more and more power. There's just no time to deliberate when the enemy is knocking on the door.

The info concerning sparks being different colours is on the TF wiki page for sparks, there's a picture of BM Rattrap and Blackarachnia with their chests transparent, showing their spark colours.
And when they eat metal/plastic/etc, instead of digesting it for energy, they use it for internal repair? Cool!
It's basically reapplying the way human bodies work to a nanite-supported robot body. Protein is the building blocks for constructing flesh in us, so you would think that if Cybertronians need to repair something the simple way of getting more metals and such is to eat some rust flakes and titanium salts in their energon.
Oh, that would make sense. I'm guessing that the different flavors wouldn't be available until Earth, though, which actually HAS coal, oil, and sunlight. Maybe some of the 'bots have an aversion or allergy to Earth energon and some get a taste for it?
Actually I think Earth would have more variety than some other places, with the variety of ways humans have found to create electricity.
I think the scene in a fic I saw was that one of the Decepticons didn't like the flavour of coal-based energon, but that was all they had in stock at the time.
...I really need to brush up on my G1 lore. I'm forgetting all this information that I know that I knew. If that makes sense.
Best place to go is the TF wiki.

That is certainly true in the case of Transformers.

Heh, wonder if they have to take their vitamins XD
Actually I think...
*snicker* Does that mean that energon can spoil after time? Would suck for the 'cons, given how much they've hoarded.
