3. All young sparklings have a default alt-mode which is designed to keep them as safe as possible until their first upgrade. The transformed sparkling has very low mobility, but usually has enough protection to keep him/her safe in threatening situations until an adult can intervene. After shifting the general body structure, the alt-mode’s ‘limbs’ (containing important components of vital systems) and head are withdrawn into a central armored section.

I actually imagine that if sparklings have an altmode, it's a small ground vehicle, like a go-cart in the basic shape of the vehicle type they will eventually become (like I imagine Orion Pax has always been some sort of truck - he was a small truck as a sparkling, he was a medium truck as a young mech, he became a large truck as Optimus Prime).

But you have a point, they'd be small, slow, but armoured, and I can't help but get the image of a sparkling being a turtle-like cart, like a motorised version of one of those plastic kiddy carts that look like some cartoony animal.

25. Primus only created the Cybertronians so they could take care of his unwieldy body while he was stuck in sphere form.

Interesting point, and the way my Primus muse's story goes, the Autobots become that again, taking up a long term project to repair all the damage and start maintaining Cybertron properly again.

Of course, the initial objective of doing so is so the planet can transform because it's easier for Primus to move himself in robot form to a star system where he's got regular sunlight to generate energon from, but that is only the start of the repair process and even after moving Cybertron, there's still lots that needs to be fixed up.

26. Primus is temporarily unable to care for his children. His brother Unicron agrees to ‘babysit’ until Primus can take custody of them again. Most of the children, understandably, are very wary of their new ‘babysitter’.Aww, I like that! *LOVES THIS IDEA* Our solar system? Or a different one?
*resists temptation to create a Star Wars crossover bunny with this*

Aww, I like that! I am not totally hyped on the whole Ultimate Good/Ultimate Evil polarisation and would love to see more fic where they aren't absolute enemies.

*agrees*

Somehow, the situation eventually resolves with some of the mixed race moving home to Unicron and the two planet-formers end up sharing their combined children.

Like divorced parents with shared custody? *thinks* *writes new bunny*

Red Alert is accidentally left alone in the Ark, and the Decepticons, thinking no one is there and Red has to keep them out - and for once he's not paranoid!

Or he still is paranoid, but since it's every 'Con against only him, all the suspicious he has are actually true.

Our solar system? Or a different one?

I tend to think of it being a different one, because the Autobots have treaties with Earth so Earth's system is human territory.

Well, perhaps they could just park Cybertron on the opposite side of Earth's orbit, or a little closer to the sun to get more solar power?

Besides, maybe the Autobots had treaties, but as just one faction of their race, would they have the authority to speak for the Decepticons too? And a merged Autobot-Decepticon government would probably replace the faction system after the war. And since that government hadn't agreed to any treaties ( ... )

Ahh well, there you manage to bring up one of my common assumptions about my mega-bunnies - most of the time they are based on G1 animated canon - so the Decepticons gained dominion of Cybertron, Unicron attacks and the Decepticons flee because of that. So after Unicron is defeated, the Autobots take Cybertron and the remnants of the Decepticons are on Charr.

And because Primus!Mags has always been with the Autobots, Cybertron is under Autobot control so all the Autobot treaties hold (though I can see all the treaties having to be redone every time there was a changeover of command - like when Roddy took command, then when Optimus came back again).

This has made me wonder... if the planet itself was in favor of the Autobots, how could the Decepticons ever gain control of it/him in the first place? Primus could just slam doors in their faces/shift the ground to trip them/drop buildings on them until they figured out it wasn't worth the effort and left. Unless, with Prime & the Matrix banished and distant, Primus slips into semi-stasis and has less control over his body...

Yes, that would be a bit of a problem for them.

GO-CART-FORMERS! Or bumper-car-formers! *LOVES**LOVES**LOVES**LOVES**LOVES*

Or wait... what about... a roller-coaster-former? A flying-roller-coaster-former. *wants one*

like a motorised version of one of those plastic kiddy carts that look like some cartoony animal.

Awwww, so cute! Or like those merry-go-round animals, but bigger.

...Merry-go-round-former!

Or maybe Magnus got injured and is stuck in longterm stasis and the address is where he's located.

That's be a risky thing to hang on to, because if certain people found that datapad...

I connected this to the plotbunny about Soundwave converting lovers into his Cassettes, and what if they all wake up in their original forms

*is fascinated* Ooohhhhhh....

And then they wake up, having got used to being Soundwave's Cassettes, and Soundwave is missing.Well, they'd be happy to be back to normal, right? Or not? Either way, it'd be hard to adjust to not having that 'Big Brother is ( ... )

He'd be an adult who is the regular child-minder. ^_~

True, which would make an interesting story - someone gets the datapad and it's basically a race to get to where Magnus is kept.

Well, they'd be happy to be back to normal, right? Or not? Either way, it'd be hard to adjust to not having that 'Big Brother is watching you' feeling...I think it depends on how used to it they have become and how deep their attachments to Soundwave are. Actually, the best concept would be if there's a range of reactions to the situation. Maybe Ratbat is pleased to be back to his original self, the twins are only so-so about it (the IDW history of them being industrial equipment strikes me that there wouldn't be a lot of size change to them if they returned to that), and for some reason I see Ravage as the one who has the deepest attachment to Soundwave, so Ratbat might not care to return to being a tape, the twins might be ( ... )

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away:

Maybe Optimus did it deliberately - there was a bunny not long ago about the Prime Consort having to be a Cybertronian who can breed - so Optimus needs a child minder mech because Magnus is pregnant.

And the sparkling would be lost among all the others which 'mysteriously' appear as soon as there's someone to look after them. Clever Optimus.

The 'soap opera' ending. It'd have to be a lot of sparklings to stop the war; if it was just a few then they could just raise the sparklings to hate the enemy until a Romeo & Juliet-type situation came up.
...I now have an amusing mental image of the Autobots and Decepticons swarmed with ten times as many sparklings as grown mechs.
