1. Skywarp?

2. A match made in purgatory.

4. Why, Perceptor, how you've grown! ... This calls for some Metroplex/Perceptor. *thinks* OR... Sam and Mikaela meet the largest Cybertronian they've ever seen. "I can't believe that guy is a microscope!"
"Well, at least you'll no longer have an excuse to fail science class."

5. *LOVES* IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!!

6. *wonders who* Mirage? Cliffjumper (that would be a shocker)?

7. As soon as I saw that first line, I knew what this was about. But who's the only one?

9. Optimus: *suddenly very nervous* "Why is everyone glaring at me?"
Autobot: "Oh, no reason." *glares*
Optimus: *feeling of impending doom*

I wonder how many will want to join the Decepticons now.

Though I can see Perceptor storming up to them, grabbing Brawn, and screaming "MINE!"

13. "Oh no! You're not going out in that, young mech!"

14. Maybe he doesn't know his actual name?

16. Perceptor would have it.

2. A match made in purgatory.

Interesting phrasing there...

Why, Perceptor, how you've grown! ... This calls for some Metroplex/Perceptor.

Oh, you didn't think of Prowl? The telepathy didn't come through this time! I mean, what with 'donut-shaped' and police forces using it for forensic purposes and all...

5. *LOVES* IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!!

XD Perhaps they were meant to be teachers, but they both got so caught up in what they were supposed to be teaching about that they became students instead.

6. *wonders who* Mirage? Cliffjumper (that would be a shocker)?Mirage - Hmmm. Mirage lived in the Towers, yes? Maybe the part he lived in was right on the edge of a poorer area, or maybe paying for his art got so expensive he had to move out and find a cheaper place. Or maybe Sunstreaker lived in the Towers. Or maybe Mirage used the other place as his studio, to keep his art separate from his social life ( ... )

It seemed to fit.

Sorry. I saw Microscope.

*nods* Very possible. And so like them.

Mirage - Hmmm. Mirage lived in the Towers, yes? Or maybe Mirage used the other place as his studio, to keep his art separate from his social life.

I like the idea of him living right on the edge. If he was rich but not as rich as the others in the Towers, it might explain some things.

Sorry. I saw Microscope.

As always.

I like the idea of him living right on the edge.

Oh! That makes me think of a quote that I'm putting on my next list.

If he was rich but not as rich as the others in the Towers, it might explain some things.

Hmmm, reminds me of something I read once. Something about having a dual inferiority complex: not fitting in with the super-rich people or the 'wrong side of the tracks' toughs.

They will simply have 'why me' expressions

Maybe this sort of thing has happened to Percy and Skyfire before?

Maybe Megatron knows it, but can't remember sometimes? Maybe he has the beginnings of Alzheimers?

That is... a very interesting idea, considering the fact that Megatron is one of those Cybertronians who looks and sounds pretty old.

Or maybe he has a crush on Optimus and his mind goes blank whenever he sees him and he knows he can't go wrong with yelling Prime.

*grin* And one day he'll be so self-conscious that he'll blurt out some silly pet name by mistake.

I wonder what would happen if Blurr talked ( ... )

A fic? Or an article?

Maybe this sort of thing has happened to Percy and Skyfire before?

It always happens. Fortunately, usually not in public.

That is... a very interesting idea, considering the fact that Megatron is one of those Cybertronians who looks and sounds pretty old.

Maybe Starscream tries so hard to overthrow Megatron because he knows the truth and doesn't want the greatest Decepticon who ever lived to be remembered as a foolish, forgetful old man?

*grin* And one day he'll be so self-conscious that he'll blurt out some silly pet name by mistake.

*WANTS TO SEE*

Reminds me of a bunny I posted a while back about Frenzy + Rumble = Fumble and Rewind + Eject = Reject.

I remember that one!

You know, I never realized it before, but Optimus (& Megatron too I suppose) is really tormented by this comm almost as much as Perceptor. Because whenever we ( ... )

Actually, I think it was a book, but I went and checked the book because it was bothering me so much and I couldn't find the quote. *is sad*

...Oooh. Maybe Megatron ordered him to do that for the same reason. Wait - Starscream's null rays are destructive but not fatal, right? Was he equipped with them so he could pretend to 'kill' Megatron while actually saving him?

Like actually play music? *is shocked*

So, if their alt-modes are cassettes, will high temperatures make their tape melt? *wince*

That happens to me all the time. I try to write down quotes that interest me but I sometimes forget to write down where I heard it.

That's a good explanation for them. I always wondered why he had them. They seem such an Autobot type of weapon.

Yup, that's it in a nutshell. It's a real pain, especially when you're writing a paper and need to cite everything.

That's a good explanation for them. I always wondered why he had them. They seem such an Autobot type of weapon.

I believe I read a theory once that he stole them from Wheeljack's lab, believing them to be some sort of superweapon, and when he found out what they really did he just kept them anyway - maybe out of embarrassment.

That sounds familiar. I must have read it too. Sadly, I can't remember what fic it was.

And you'd think this would happen fairly often, what with the Ark being in the middle of the desert and all. I wonder how the cassettes survived being in a metal ship in the desert for all the time they were offline? Would Soundwave and Blaster have backup climate controls in their chests that keep working even if they're offline?

Hmmm. Possible. Though I think, if their systems were online enough to maintain climate control, then wouldn't it take longer for them to heal? Everyone else, all their power was going to their self-repair systems. That might explain why it took so long for Blaster to show up, but what about Soundwave?

Neither can I. Ah well, at least it's one you're read so you don't really have to go look for it.

Well, I'd think the tape decks would have extra energy stored specifically for the cassettes' optimal health and comfort. Soundwave, being a 'Con, would insist on extra rations for his family's benefit even if it meant starving other 'Cons; on the other hand, Blaster would freely admit that the entire amount of excess energy wasn't strictly necessary for survival and would forgo part of his extra ration for the benefit of the cause.

36. Starscream: "Augh!"

Megatron: *sets timer on hidden bomb inside football and stuffs it into Starscream's cockpit*

37. And that scientist was Perceptor's Crazy Uncle Bob, who Perceptor's creators refused to talk about.

So Perceptor and Ironhide are cousins? I wonder if Ironhide ever got drafted into Perceptor-sitting duty...

39. The Autobots were counting on plunder?

Well, no one outright said it that way, but everyone knew that the only way the 'Bots could ever pay off their war debts was through reparations from the 'Cons. For example, they could dismantle Shockwave's military laboratory and give the equipment to another species in lieu of payment for a loan.

B. So they strike off on their own and colonize an interesting out of the way world. They may not have money to build an actual colony, but who needs a home when you have an entire world to study? He did... but he had to promise not to let Crazy Uncle Bob anywhere near Perceptor.

And that totally made me picture Starscream running around with his head cut off.

He did... but he had to promise not to let Crazy Uncle Bob anywhere near Perceptor.

It was just one time that he took his eyes off the sparkling for a minute, and the next thing he knew the little brat was trying to spike his energon with some chemical while giggling gleefully.

Perceptor: "You can't give away his lab! I called dibs!"

... I wonder if Shockwave's gun form has some sort of scientific use? Because that would make him part of his own lab equipment. *pictures Perceptor with his arms and legs wrapped around an uncomfortable gun-form-Shockwave in a stubborn possessive glomp*

Shelter, on the other hand...

Oh, this reminds me of an cute bit in some fic where Starscream remembered that before the war, when they were investigating foreign planets on a low budget, he'd sleep in alt-mode under Skyfire's wing when conditions were bad. Such an adorable image.

I... totally want to see that now.

Perceptor looked so disappointed when Ironhide refused to drink it. Ironhide almost agreed to after all... but then Perceptor said that he couldn't wait to see what would grow. Ironhide wisely threw the energon away, staring in horrified fascination as it bubbled and melted everything it touched. Perceptor just looked sad that no sparkly crystals started growing like they should have.

Ironhide never drank energon anywhere near Perceptor after that.

Now that I think about it, in Animated!verse this is practically canon.

Ironhide almost agreed to after all... but then Perceptor said that he couldn't wait to see what would grow.

From that point on, when a test subject asked Perceptor about the effects of his experiment, he would just smile mysteriously and say "You'll find out..."

Perceptor just looked sad that no sparkly crystals started growing like they should have.

Makes me think of those kiddy science kits. How on Cybertron could Perceptor have used the stuff in one of those to make poisonous acid?
...I wonder if Perceptor (or Hound) ever owned one of those rock tumblers that makes the rocks all pretty and shiny. I had one of those once.

Though if Shockwave is part of his own lab equipment... then Perceptor is lab equipment, as well. After all... microscope.

Having Shockwave for an older brother might be just as bad good as having Primus.

What fic is that I want to read it!

...Though if the test subjects were smart, that smile alone would make them run.

An experiment is no fun if you know what the results will be, so Perceptor added a few chemicles he found lying around the place (Crazy Uncle Bob really needs to clean his house, doesn't he?). The only words he can read are science-related so he didn't know what he was pouring in there (expensive high-grade and Uncle Bob's Amazing Does Everything Cleaning Formula: Guaranteed To Eat Away At Even The Toughest Stains!). The high-grade was a pretty color and since the science kit was supposed to make crystals of a rather boring clear color, Perceptor thought that by adding the high- ( ... )
