Teyla's Five Most Underrated MomentstielanFebruary 19 2008, 23:06:56 UTC
1. "Phantoms": Teyla saving Rodney, Shep, Ronon, Carson, and a couple of marines whose names I don't remember, by taking one glance at Rodney's work and knowing exactly what has to be done to fix the Wraith Crazy-Making machine!
2. Teyla fighting Ronon and kicking his ass in "Echoes".
3. Teyla fighting Ronon blindfolded and kicking his ass in "Reunion".
4. Teyla handing John the gun to deal with Phoebus/Elizabeth in "The Long Goodbye" while still not knowing if he's John or Thalen - and coolly explaining her rationale afterwards.
5. Teyla going to Colonel Everett in "The Siege" and telling him that she and her people wanted to be involved in the protection of Atlantis, too.

Plus - one of the things I love about Teyla is that so much is said without words - in looks. Sometimes those moments seem much more powerful than if she had said something instead.
A few fic recs heavy on the Teyla/John angst curve by Gater101. There are many - one shots that when put together making a wonderful story. Told mostly from John's POV, but heavy focus on his relationship w/Teyla.
Being a fan of long plotty gen, I've read some Teyla-ful ones lately:
Healing Ways by Valleya is a very long action-h/c story from Teyla's viewpoint, in which she goes back to Athos with her teammates to deal with the emotional fallout from Charin and Carson's deaths, and instead ends up in a survival situation.
Pilgrim's Progress is, basically, a Rodney-Teyla action buddyfic. It's a Rodney POV and he's really the focus, but there's lots of Teyla too.
Finagle's Quake - an older one, but a goodie -- Rodney and Teyla are trapped together in a cave-in, while a frantic John tries to get them out. I think this was the first Rodney/Teyla friendship story that I read that was longer than vignette length.
Athosian for Beginners - I think most people have probably read this one, as it's fairly well-known, but just in case ...! It's labeled Rodney/Teyla, but I'd call it more gen with subtext. The Pegasus language translator stops working.
Dream Eater - an interesting AU in which Teyla discovers something unexpected about John. I recced

And a rec: Four Queens, an awesome Teyla-centric female friendship piece.

I'd also like to add her "Don't make me do this" comment to John in "Conversion"
