Hey, anyone who is in the D.C. area, there's going to be a rally on the 8th for the government to take action against the genocide in Darfur.

So far, the United States is the only country that has recognized the events in Darfur as genocidal, yet they have failed to act in any effective way.
Additionally the UN has recognized that the Sudanese government is committing and has committed major war crimes and crimes against humanity, but not a genocidal government policy. They admit that people in Darfur need protection and aid, but have not acted on this sentiment.
An estimate 6000 people die every month in Darfur, and last month 10000 people were displaced from their homes.
Those 10000 are added to the 2 million that are currently in camps in Darfur, and the 200000 that are in camps in Chad.
