road trip

My friends and I started making tentative plans to go to DC in the third week of January so we can see Barack Obama be sworn in to be the 44th President of the United States. We're hoping that we can turn a vehicle owned by another friend into a Washington-or-Bust art car/transportation to DC apparatus. It's an old airport shuttle bus, and as far as we all know, it works great.

I faxed a request this morning for tickets from my congressperson. He's a Republican and I hate him, but he's my only route to tickets, so I'll deal. Even if I don't end up with tickets, it's not a big deal. We can party in the Mall with a million of our closest friends and still have an unbelievable time.

I'm not 100% sure that this is going to work, but with having a gagillion friends in the DC area, and my friends having a gagillion more friends in the DC area, not being able to find a hotel isn't a big deal at all.
