A rant on the word "I"

Mar 25, 2011 11:36

I bring this here, because there are too many people on Facebook who would just scroll on by, and I know you all understand my pain.

But in truth, this is directed at people who caption photos on facebook.

To wit, "(otherperson) and I on the beach at San Tropei" (or whatever) does not make you sound sophisticated or classy or whatever. Unless "(otherperson and I)" is the subject of a sentence, it is wrong.

Here's the rule, if you use "I" alone, then you can use it in a group. However, if you use "me" alone, then the correct usage is "(otherperson) and me".
