I haven't posted since May? Naughty fanboy!
Some general updates:
1) I'm debt free. Took forever to pull off, but I got it done.
2) I'm now funnelling the money that was paying that off into the dentist's chair. I'm about %50 done. My dentist is awesome, by the way.
3) WoW: My guild is on LK now. Sindy took us about 6 weeks. It's now a race to see if we can down him before the new patch changes everything.
4) Tonight is the best night in a long time. I'm done numbering, everything from here on is about why today is so awesome.
My sister reminded me that Rush was playing in Houston, and that they'd be playing all of Moving Pictures. This alone surprised me, since the last time my sister had anything at all to say about Rush (ths was about 15 years ago) she was making fun of me for being a fan. Apparently her husband's a good influence on her.
Anyway, I was able to score a lawn seat Tuesday. This morning I hopped in the car, drove to Houston, and got a room at a Holiday Inn near the venue. This is the first away-from-home mini vacation I've had in a while.
On the way down, I listened to the UH/Tulane game on the radio. Was happy to see that the fanbase pulled in behind our new QB after losing our start and backup for the season last week.
the announcers kept updating on the UT/UCLA game progress, because they were as giddy as I was about the fact that UT was getting teabagged. Fun fact: Our 3rd string QB got more accomplished against UCLA last week in one half than UT's starter was able to get done in 3.5 quarters. Yeah.
The Woodlands had changed a lot. I guess that makes sense -- the last time I was up here was...1998, I think. We got rained on before the show, but that brought temps down so that's a good thing, I guess. The show was...
They played Moving PIctures. All of it.
They played Presto (the song, not the album). I thought they'd never play that song live. It's only the song that made me fan.
A great show, glad to see these guys still kicking around.
I'm back at the hotel. thought about finding some karaoke after the show, but my feet hurt like hell and my clothes are still a bit damp from the rain earlier.
