Typical day

Up early, run on the beach with Karr, get showered and head to the clinic.

Once there, check the daily grid to see what appointments are when, what meds we need to prepare, which doctors are in. We don't have any overnight patients, so I don't have anyone to catch up with that way.

Prepare charts and stats, catch up with the doc, prep for the first appointments.

That's about when our first "emergency" shows up... and usually it's just cuts, falls, sicknesses. The really major stuff goes to the hospital.

We've usually got at least one soon-to-be mom a day. And they're usually under 18. Most of them are scared, nervous, unsure... We take time after the physical to talk to them, see what's happening in the rest of their lives.

Lunch, more appointments in the afternoon.

Clean the lab and the examining rooms, check supplies, set the grid for the next day.

Head home to spend the evening with Karr and the others.
