Hi. Um... My name's Simon. I pilot Lagann, the little robot from earlier. You probably already heard about my bro, Kamina; we come from the same little underground village, Jeeha. We escaped from there, and... we're here now, I guess.

[This kid again...] Hey. It's been a while. Enjoying the surface world?

Oh, hey. Um... yeah, I am. It's bright, and there's a lot of weird stuff to get used to up here, but it's a lot more interesting than the village was. No earthquakes, either. Except for when we're in battle, though.

Earthquakes? In an underground village? ['The kind of damage that would cause-'] Ah, sorry if I brought up any troubling memories, I was just surprised that your village chose a location that suffered from earthquakes.

It was pretty bad. We had them pretty often... every few days, usually. A lot of the time, though, it was just big things moving over the ground above us. That was why we were going to escape, to see the surface, and to escape the earthquakes. When we got up here, and figured out what was causing the quakes... it was a little hard to believe. I mean, giant machines? Who would believe that?

So you are from underneath the ground. Tatsu is interested. Are you another race like Timaeus? Oh, Tatsu for got to introduce Tatsu. Tatsu is Tatsu. Tatsu was made on the moon.

(...And Tatsu isn't even the strangest thing on this ship.)

Wha... what the... [Between the speech and the fact that he's looking at a lizard, Simon seems confused.] I'm human. I don't know what the moon is, sorry. But, uh... nice to meet you?

[A beat passes.]

Those are my bro's sunglasses. Where did you get those...?

The moon is a celestial body that orbits the Earth. A large planet like sphere that brings the night. In otherwords, that.

(Tatsu points up to the convenient starry sky to show Simon a full moon.)

As for the glasses, Tatsu found them when Tatsu was running from a crazed german. They stick to Tatsu like a magnet which is great as Tatsu has no ears. They also fill Tatsu with great womanly power!

...Orbits the Earth? [He looks up at the moon, seeming to actually see it, rather than just write it off as something in the night sky.] Weird... it's beautiful, though.

[After a while, Simon directs his attention back down to Tatsu.] Well... I'm glad they're working out for you, at least? I'm not sure what my bro will think, though. He's been wondering where he left that pair. He had more, but we've run into some bad luck before we came back here...

No, hear me out, bro. If we knew how it worked, maybe it could do more. Like... a bigger drill. Or being able to combine with more than just Gurren.

...Or we could make more of Lagann, with enough time.

You think that'd work? Combining with other stuff?

Well, it worked for Gurren. There's no way it was only designed to combine with that one robot. Does it have to be another robot like the one you stole? Does it work with any of the ones they have? Would it work with the other machines here, even? Or even with the White Chalice itself?

Think of the possibilities! We could have a whole starship!

Axel Shooter, Focus! Shoot!

[Suddenly, a cluster of small pink beams pelt the enemy at the same time! This is a pretty big opponent though, so they don't really do much besides tickle it, maybe.

Nanoha however, is pretty worried about her teammate.]

...Simon-kun, are you okay?

[digs_holes]

[Simon spends some time getting Lagann out of the way now that the pressure's off him a little.]

Thanks, Nanoha-san, I'm fine! This thing's huge, though...! We've gotta come up with a plan! [Lagann disappears into the ground again; it doesn't emerge immediately.] I mean, I know I've gotta drill into it to do damage, but...

You need an opening, right?

[Nanoha breaks off, taking to the sky again. That's when Raising Heart chimes in.]

I suggest a bombardment attack.

Yeah. That's what I was thinking, too.

[She pauses for a bit, then looks at the floating communications screen.]

Simon-kun, I'll try to stop it from moving! That'll be your chance to finish it off!

[digs_holes]

Okay! I'll, uh... keep out of your way, I guess. Those things hurt, and I can't help unless I'm up close.

[Meanwhile, Simon sighs, trying to focus himself.] I'm only gonna get one shot at this... I can't let her down!

[And then, a roar from above; the opponent appears to have decided it didn't want to wait for Nanoha to start shooting again, and is taking a swing.] Okay, never mind, I'm going for it! Nanoha-san, move!

[With only that warning, Lagann bursts from a cliffside at an upward angle, bottom half a drill, and sailing on a parabolic arc toward the enemy's midsection! Is he going to make it in time...!?]

WOAH! [And Gen hits the ground, getting knocked out of Fourze form as he does. As he comes to, he can't help but watch Simon just going NUTS.] Simon...? Oi! Simon! [This ISN'T like him at all!]

[digs_holes]

[Gen's initial calls aren't getting through, as Simon takes Lagann right up to its limits, pinballing off of walls to get some height before turning the entire lower half of Lagann into one big drill, which he drives sideways into and through the target with a roar, which seems to deal quite a bit of damage but doesn't take the thing down, landing some distance away but close to where Fourze went down.]

You... you hurt Gentarou... you're not going to get away with that!

[Lagann twitches as Gen keeps shouting, and Simon seems to come back from the brink a bit.] Gen? Wait, you're okay?
